Proposed Mastodon migration metric: if you went through 24h of "Following" posts and you didn't hit your 600/day limit, enough of folks you're following have moved to the fediverse to never have to come back to Twitter again.

There's lies, damn lies, and DTE press releases about power restoration. Props to the field crews who are likely just running after the results of corporate incompetence themselves. Take a pause DTE, then tell us about the rate hikes that are needed to maintain the MI grid.
To its dubious credit @DTE_Energy seems to have given up giving dates for estimated power restoration, instead opting to go with the entirely noncommittal "We apologize that we were not able to restore your power at <address> by the estimate provided. Weโll send an update soon."
Less than one hour to go on today's power restoration estimate from @DTE_Energy and I can't wait for the text letting me know that the damage was EVEN MORE extensive than what they thought in previous days!
Oh good
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of southeast Michigan north of I-94. Ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch between I-96 and I-69, with snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches for the northern Saginaw Valley and Thumb. #miwx
Replying to @DTE_Energy
@DTE_Energy I donโt mind longer restoration times nearly as much as feeding them to customers day by day, causing them to stay put vs. โItโll be 4-5 daysโ so one can go to a hotel, board pets and generally make risk-based decisions. This is terrible. Check your DMs.
...which you can and should 100% avail yourself BEFORE the threats becomes real and the disasters need recovering from. Your customers are part of your threat model, impact-wise. While you can't loop them in on what they don't control, you can definitely offer information.
Meanwhile the local Lowe's sold 47 portable generators ($900 ea) just yesterday so the solutioneering is still left entirely to customers.
Hey Infosec Twitter, looking for a favor! I'm still without power and WiFi which is limiting my OSINT abilities right now, so if anyone has a security contact for the good folks over at Hyper Hippo (Adventure Capitalism, Adventure Communism) I sure would appreciate it! ๐
Hey @DTE_Energy I know y'all are busy around here with this #poweroutage, but this is crap wouldn't you agree? I'm not in the country, the sticks or the boonies. We're now on track to do worse than the summer 2021 outage which lasted 3.5 days, the opposite of doing better.
