@tweethue trying to setup hue bridge with Alexa, following the instructions (philips-hue.com/en-us/explor…) and can't locate the hue skill. Searching "Philips hue" as per instructions, I can make a fart noise, but not control Hue 😂

I can’t emphasis enough the significance of proposing to replace the GDPR DPIA - an assessment of impact on the rights and freedoms of living individuals - with a cut-price ‘privacy management’ programme and business impact assessment. This is HUGE.

I think "DevOps" is the most misused term in tech, especially in recruiting. a) we don't have a DevOps engineer position b) DevOps engineer positions don't exist c) you run a DevOps recruitment consultancy without understanding what DevOps is.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's "low hanging fruit", never "low hanging fruits". "There is plenty of low hanging fruit there" "We're going after the low hanging fruit first"

Every time I see President Zelenskyy, staying, fighting even after the offer of removal by USA I'm reminded of the time our prime minister hid in a fridge from Good Morning Britain

Had a "tool sharpening" session last night, switched my terminal from alacritty+tmux to kitty. Let's see how this week goes!
I'm really enjoying @taskwarrior since starting a few weeks ago. For me, the secret sauce isn't (just) the terminal, or the fact I can easily integrate with anything (eg PR review requests show up automatically), it's the urgency calculation.🧵

Bugwarrior, that can pull tasks from pretty much anything, didn't quite fit my use case (specifically PR review requests, with a bit of priority calc), so I put a quick script together. Looking like it will end up a more general purpose tool, so will hopefully open source it

I don't see it getting much attention, but it's changed my work life, give it a try.

This really resonates. And this isn't just juniors, everyone should do this. Everyone appreciates it, you learn an area pretty deeply, and you'll probably be the first to spot how you can _stop_ doing whatever dull task it is.

“Another thing that helped me build relationships with more senior devs on my team was to just dig my teeth in and do the most absolute dirty work needed. Anything at all.” - the senior I just mentioned above.

A junior dev asked me in DMs what advice I’d give them for their first 30 days on their first coding job. I ran this past a group of other very experienced senior devs and got the thumbs up from them. Here we go….
