OWU: TALENT PROJECTION — CONCEPTUALLY THINKING BASKETBALL FILM STUDY EMILIA MONTMARQUETTE 2028 | Appleton East | Appleton, Wisconsin 5'11" | Guard Team PRIME Nation / Nike Girls EYBL 2026 Second-Team All-FVA | First-Team All-FVA Defense EMERGING TWO-WAY COMBO GUARD MontMarquette is a 5'11" guard whose combination of shooting efficiency, decision-making and defensive production creates a scalable two-way profile. FILM STUDY THESIS The evaluation starts with possession value. As a sophomore, MontMarquette averaged 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 45.3% from the field and 36.8% from three. Her 2.82 assist-to-turnover ratio is particularly significant. It provides evidence of a guard capable of facilitating offense while protecting possessions. 1. OFFENSIVE ROLE MontMarquette's profile fits a modern combo-guard framework. She provides perimeter shooting without requiring high scoring volume, while her assist-to-turnover efficiency supports secondary creation responsibilities. The 36.8% three-point mark creates spacing value. Combined with her ability to distribute and limit turnovers, it gives her pathways to function both on and off the ball. TRANSLATION Her offensive value does not require ball dominance. Shooting, connective passing and possession management can remain useful as competition and roster quality increase. 2. PROCESSING AND CONNECTIVE PLAY The 2.82 assist-to-turnover ratio is one of the strongest indicators in the profile. MontMarquette averaged 2.6 assists while maintaining strong possession discipline. The remaining evaluation question is how much additional creation responsibility that decision-making can support. 3. DEFENSIVE POSSESSION VALUE Defense materially strengthens the projection. MontMarquette averaged 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks while adding 4.5 rebounds per game. Her First-Team All-FVA Defense selection—one of five players recognized—provides additional context that her defensive contribution extends beyond box-score events. At 5'11", that combination creates potential matchup versatility and meaningful guard rebounding value. 4. SYSTEM FIT MontMarquette projects cleanly into systems prioritizing: • Multiple-handler lineups • Floor spacing • Low-turnover decision-making • Guard interchangeability • Defensive versatility She can provide value without requiring offensive structure to be built around her. 5. COMPETITIVE INFRASTRUCTURE Appleton East finished 24-4 in 2025-26 and reached the sectional semifinal. MontMarquette earned Second-Team All-FVA and First-Team All-FVA Defense honors. That followed a freshman season in which Appleton East reached the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament. Team PRIME Nation adds Nike Girls EYBL competition to an already substantial high-school environment. THE BEECHUM VERDICT MontMarquette's sophomore season moves the evaluation beyond a developmental watchlist. At 5'11", she combines 45.3% field-goal shooting, 36.8% three-point shooting, a 2.82 assist-to-turnover ratio and multi-category defensive production. The defining characteristic is scalability. She can shoot, protect possessions, rebound and create defensive events without requiring high usage. The next evaluation layer is determining how much additional creation responsibility that foundation can support against national-level pressure. #OWUEvalDay #ConceptuallyThinking #BuiltDifferent #PlayerTrustNetwork #ScoutingTruths [@PGHBrooks ] [@NXTPROG] [@JrAllStarBB] [] [@IGBRcoverage [@WorldExposureWB] [@_BlakeDerrick] [@WKGameBall] [@EconAdjunct] [@FiveStateHoops] [@OWUTALENT ][@PGHiowa ] [@JrAllStariowa ] @gemsinthegym
