Our students had fun getting ready for Halloween. They started by planting the pumpkin seeds in their classes in March, as the seedlings grew the Brookfields Market Garden students were able to pot on the pumpkin plants and watch them grow. 1/3

They made sure they were watered and cared for. By May the plants were large enough to be planted out in the pumpkin patch at our allotment. The students visited regularly to make sure the patch was well watered and weeded throughout the summer months. (2/3)

They measured the growth of the pumpkins and squashes and observing the changes in colour as they ripened. Finally the pumpkins were ready and a group of students visited the allotment to harvest them and bring them back to school freshly picked for our pumpkin sale (3/3)
