In the Disney Cars universe boats and trains have eyes and seem to have consiousness - but cannot talk like the planes or cars and lack freedom - are they domesticated like dogs? Or do they exist more wild but friendly like whales? Or do they speak out of some other mouth we can’t see?

Did the cars evolve, biologically, from the trains? And the planes from the boats? Or did the cars evolve from the car insects? What were the factors that lead to Cars World War 2?

Dot voice: what we're fixing ⚒️ We're hearing lots of great feedback on Dot voice: 1. It takes too long to connect or fails entirely (5-6 rings) 2. The phone call UX: some people love it, some don't 3. No way to see transcript or summary 4. Says "Checking" too much 5. Sometimes goes quiet and does not give updates Here's what we're doing next: 1. Making connection fast and reliable 2. Keeping the phone call UX for now, but instant 3. Adding transcript and summaries to the UI 4. Adding more variance to "Checking" (eventually will remove it for fast questions) 5. Adding more regular updates Our goal is for Dot voice to become the chief-of-staff you can delegate any task to, hands-free. What did we miss? Please keep the feedback coming!

Hi, I’m Vibhor, Product Lead for Ecosystem at @OpenAI. I am going to use this space to share what we are doing to further the Ecosystem for our customers, and partners. DevDay feels like a good time to start. One of the best parts of DevDay was the deep collaboration with partners: @Adobe, @Atlassian, @Canva, @Figma, @Instacart, @MagicPathAI, @Shopify, Superpower, and @tldraw. While I went in excited I left with even more conviction in what we’re building together for our shared customers. It was also incredible to meet AI native partners and hear how our platform is empowering them build a sustainable business on ChatGPT 🎉 A conversation is often just the beginning of a task. You describe an idea, work through it, and eventually want something you can use: an edited image, a working prototype, a diagram you can keep refining. Getting there takes great tools and the people who know how to build them. Our ambition is to make those capabilities feel like a natural part of working with ChatGPT. At DevDay, we shared several steps in that direction. 1. Plugin Extensions help our partners bring interactive experiences to ChatGPT. Adobe is a good example. You can ask for an image edit, then adjust the details with hands-on controls. With tldraw, you and the agent can work on a shared canvas. MagicPath brings interactive prototypes into the conversation, with room to edit them yourself. These examples make the idea much more tangible: - Adobe: video.tv.adobe.com/v/3503940 - tldraw: xitter.cf/tldraw/status/21053958… - MagicPath: xitter.cf/skirano/status/2104994… - Figma: lnkd.in/gaqHXZjT - Shopify: lnkd.in/ghEXY5GT 2. A useful plugin can package skills, an MCP server, or both. That gives builders different ways to contribute: reusable workflow knowledge, access to live information, or actions that help someone finish a task. We introduced Plugin Creator and improvements to submissions, including automated checks and clearer feedback. Sites can also host supported plugins. There’s still work to do to make building and maintaining a plugin consistently straightforward. 3. We also announced improvements to plugin discovery, ranking and recommendations, in the directory and in conversations. This matters for both sides of the ecosystem. Users need to find something useful when they need it. Developers need a way for their work to reach those users. The goal is to make suggestions genuinely helpful, with good judgment about when they add value and when they get in the way. 4. MCP Events lets users ask ChatGPT to watch for supported events, such as a new message or a document comment, and respond when they arrive. It opens up another way for developers to make their tools useful beyond a single exchange. 5. ChatGPT Sites can now host MCP servers including plugin extensions! Create an MCP server with extensions, deploy the MCP server to Sites, turn the MCP server into a plugin, and install the plugin across platforms. There’s still plenty to do, especially around reliability, discovery and the developer experience. Thank you to the teams and partners doing this work with us. The future feels bright, and we’re just getting started. Onward!

Plugin extensions let you build interactive panels, file viewers, and a sidebar home in ChatGPT. Get clearer feedback when submitting your plugin for review. With support for the proposed MCP Events specification, events in connected apps can start automations in ChatGPT: developers.openai.com/plugin…

The ALS community has lost one of its most powerful voices. Brooke Eby was diagnosed with ALS in 2022 at just 33 years old. Instead of retreating, she made a choice that changed how the world sees this disease: she shared it all, with honesty and a sense of humor that made it impossible to look away. She brought her employer Salesforce into the fight and raised more than $1 million for research. She helped build ALStogether so people with ALS could find one another. And she shared her story with the Today Show, The New York Times and People. In 2024, the ALS Association was proud to name her an ALS Hero. "Brooke made ALS impossible to ignore, and she made it impossible not to love her while she did it," said ALS Association President and CEO Calaneet Balas. Brooke died Thursday at 37. We will keep going until ALS is livable for everyone, and then cured. Read our full statement: als.org/stories-news/brooke-…

Brooke was the most brave person I have ever met. Lucky to have known her and worked with her. Positive, funny, completely unique. Nobody like her. An inspiration to so many of us during our many years at Salesforce and to so many battling ALS or any other adversity in life. 💔
I am just devastated to hear of the passing of Brooke Eby @limpbroozkit. Brooke was an amazing warrior with an attitude so positive it could melt a glacier. All of my thoughts are with her Ohana at this time. May the One who brings Peace bring Peace to All. ❤️

I am going to try and answer a bunch of questions that people have raised about Sign in with ChatGPT in the next couple of days. Before that, I want to let you all in to why we shipped Sign in with ChatGPT (SIWC) in the first place. Clarify our intentions here before getting to the specifics.

Proud of this. Open is the way.
Enterprise teams can now use open models like GLM-5.3 Flash and Kimi K3 natively in Codex and count spend against their OpenAI commit.

OpenAI serving open-source models through Baseten is a big deal. They are embracing open source. Until now, OpenAI's pitch was "use our models." Now it is "commit your annual AI budget to us". We will get you the best model for each job, whether it's ours, someone else's, or open source. So if you're a large bank looking to commit $100M in AI spend, you centralize with OpenAI. One throat to choke. GPT handles the credit memos. Open-source handles the KYC volume at a fraction of the cost. A post-trained / specialized model handles fraud. This changes OpenAI's position. It stops competing only on whose model is best this season and starts competing to own the enterprise AI budget. A layer above being just an AI lab. Also proves AI is positive sum, not zero sum between closed and open source!
