In August, I'll be riding 100 miles for @fredhutch @Obliteride on team BMS to raise $ for cancer research. The Hutch is the real deal when it comes to cancer (and vaccine) research. Donations appreciated: secure.fredhutch.org/site/TR…
Thanks for the feature, @science_seattle 👩🔬
Drs. Brianna Traxinger (@britrax), @JennyLund15, Martin Prlic @PrlicLab, and @fredhutch colleagues demonstrate that the previously uncharacterized GU tract-localized #Treg population is phenotypically and functionally distinct from canonical counterparts.

Viral infections in the vaginal tract induced #Tregs that expressed granzyme B, suggesting these Tregs are able to control immune reasons and infections. Read more from @JennyLund15 @britrax @svicktorious @ValentinVoillet @PrlicLab and colleagues: nature.com/articles/s41385-0…
My graduate work at —or at least 60% of it— is now published in @MucosalImmunol. Thanks to my mentors and collaborators at @fredhutch @uwdgh @PrlicLab @JennyLund15 . If you’re excited about mucosal Tregs, stay tuned for our follow-up work as well 👀 @icruztala
Check out our new paper in @MucosalImmunol detailing a tissue activation signature in regulatory T cells in the context of mucosal infection. Lots of hard work from former grad student @britrax, plus @svicktorious, @ValentinVoillet, @PrlicLab, & others!

Somehow, it was published 6 years to the DAY since I started at @fredhutch! What a ride it’s been since 2016.
3+ years later, this is my last month as the @fredhutch Science Spotlight writer for VIDD. Check out two timely publications re: vaccination after CAR-T cell therapy and increasing BIPOC participation in clinical trials: fredhutch.org/en/news/spotli… @HelpEndHIV @PreventCOVID_19
Thank you @JennyLund15 and @PrlicLab for nearly 6 years of incredible support and training @fredhutch @uwdgh
So proud of @britrax, who gave the best defense presentation I've ever seen - a master class in science communication. Congratulations, Dr. Traxinger!

Excited for the opportunity to contribute to the growing field of mucosal Treg immunology 👩🏼🔬
Excited to see our mucosal Treg review out today! Congrats @JennyLund15 and @britrax!
Thanks for the opportunity, @ImmunologyAAI career reentry fellowship

Why do some pandemic viruses die out and others become endemic? For Nov. @fredhutch Science Spotlight, I covered an excellent review of the principles behind this transition and their relevance to the SARS-CoV-2 trajectory @betzhallo @EmoryUniversity: fredhutch.org/en/news/spotli…

In honor of National First-Generation College Celebration, we invited four remarkable #UWFirstGen global health students to share their stories. #CelebrateFirstGen by reading more about their unique journeys: bit.ly/3BJvosB
Shared my experiences as a first-gen higher education student with @uwdgh for National First-Generation College Day: globalhealth.washington.edu/…
Visited @UWMedicine and was impressed to be seen by an attending, resident, and student physician. I've heard apprehension about training hospitals-- everyone wants expert care-- but IMO, receiving 3 levels of medical perspective is a + and good training begets future experts.
Everyone's experience in healthcare is different, but I'm impressed with the care (and research) from @UWMedicine that I've received over the last 5 years. And grad school sure brought out some weird illnesses in me (pneumonia, anaphylaxis, pipetting injury, to name a few)!
In this month's @fredhutch Science Spotlight, @laura_matrajt uses mathematical modeling to explore scenarios in which single-dose #COVIDVaccination could be the most effective strategy: fredhutch.org/en/news/spotli…
For July @fredhutch Science Spotlight, I covered the thesis work of Dr. Veronica Davé, my friend and former labmate in the Lund and Prlic labs: fredhutch.org/en/news/spotli… @etryn @PrlicLab @JennyLund15
Lee Ann is a great scientist and mentor-we are lucky to have her as Pathobiology director. She’s also an amazing jazz musician! 😎Congratulations, Lee Ann. grad.uw.edu/lee-ann-campbell… @uwdgh
Congratulations Veronica!
