I’m in SF at luma hotel, just sharing elevators with robots that come and go. This one joined me on the lobby level and left me on floor 8. 🤖
2 years ago, @TheEconomist asked what happened to the AI revolution. Today, we're investing in AI more than ever, still struggling to prove the returns, and discovering that AI's impact on jobs is anything but predictable. I believe these seemingly contradictory signals are telling us something important about the AI Economy taking shape, and what it will take to lead in it. 👀

Tom (@marketoonist) is someone I've know for almost 2 decades. I always marvel at how relevant and witty he is through every tech trend/revolution. This is again, bang on.
🤯 In the 1H26, @OpenAI and @Anthropic captured approximately 43% of all global venture capital funding.
I feel like the U.S. wine industry needs to come together for its "Got Milk?" moment.
U.S. wine case sales fell to their lowest level in 20 years. Overall U.S. consumer spending on wine also fell from $94 billion to $74 billion between 2020 and 2025.
Got wine? 🍷

"AI kan alles, behalve samenwerken"
Elke week kondigt er wel een bedrijf een nieuwe copilot, assistent of AI-agent aan. De investeringen zijn enorm, de verwachtingen hoog. Maar ondertussen blijft de echte transformatie uit. Organisaties worden productiever op taakniveau, maar werken niet fundamenteel anders. En door steeds meer losse agents toe te voegen, vergroten ze onbedoeld het probleem dat ze proberen op te lossen.

We're witnessing an emerging shift in the social and intellectual architecture of work. @Accenture reports that 61% of employees now turn to AI before a colleague.
The future of work is now about redesigning work so that AI makes people better at what they do, and better together.
Here are some thought about why...
1) It's easier. AI offers immediate access without organizational friction.
2. AI offers psychological safety without social judgment.
3. AI allows people to think out loud without imposing on someone else.
4. AI offers perceived expertise beyond an employee's immediate network.
5. AI gives employees greater autonomy and a sense of agency. This could also lead to hallowed expertise, delusions of grandeur, and less peer-to-peer engagement (changing workplace dynamics and relationships)
6. AI lets employees learn privately at their own pace.
7. It's always flattering and validating 😉
