The universe is weird as shit and I'm profoundly grateful that it permits us to poke at it.

In Aisle's first year, they've shown that the system built around an LLM is highly important, and even small, cheap fast models can be boosted to do valuable security work
This is so crazy; more vulnerabilities being found in 30 year old software alone is a little nutty to me, but smaller models mogging the closed behemoths on this task (specialized yes, but long horizon and massive context) is a, pleasant, surprise to me.

Just today AISLE accounts for 18 of curl's 24 newly disclosed zero-day vulnerabilities with CVEs=75%, more than any other group/AI lab. Super proud of our team!
curl founder Daniel Stenberg: "Aisle has found more CVEs in curl than any other group or individual ever did before"
There’s nothing quite like #Canada during the fall. Fiery maples, golden forests, mirrored lakes and crisp autumn air make fall a spectacular time to explore Canada’s natural beauty. In your opinion, where is the best Canadian place to travel to in the fall? 🍁🍂

Brendan's concerns with pacing are 1) entirely reasonable and 2) go unaddressed by huge portions of the AI safety crowd. If we want to pace, we've got an obligation to do it in a way that doesn't concentrate power, monopolize intelligence, or give a central authority a blank check to do whatever they want.
Cosmos Institute founder @Brendan_McCord warns that giving regulators the power to slow down frontier AI could create an authority with virtually no limits:
"Developing tools to pace the frontier is assigning power to pace the frontier. And if you assign power in a free society, you also have to demarcate it. You have to place limits on it."
"Something as ill-defined as pacing, today it's compute, tomorrow it's algorithms, maybe the way a research organization is set up, is going to force any would-be pacer to dynamically redefine its jurisdiction. No one who advocates for pacing can really tell me what power the pacer would not have."
"If you were gonna pace the whole frontier, you need a way to deal with defectors, which means you need an ability to coerce actors who don't wanna stop. That's what needs to be defined if we're gonna have this be a liberal institution."
