This statement from the President of the United States of America, a position once also associated with the leader of the free world, is deeply disturbing.
No one wants to end this war more than Zelenskyy.
Putin does not.
And why should he when Trump is trying to help him win?
So disappointing. So embarrassing.

I have known hundreds of senators over decades of working in and being around the body. No one is more disgraceful to the institution, to common decency, to fundamentals of democracy than Mike Lee.
Spare me the pearl-clutching — especially from Republican Members of Congress and online MAGA grifters who have cheered President Trump's weaponization of the government against those he doesn’t like, as recently as last week. This is a subject I know something about: Less than a year ago, Trump directed the DOJ and FBI to investigate me, and then tried to criminally indict me for a 90 second video, exercising basic free speech. The same free speech you’re exercising now, lying about what I said in this clip. If not for an anonymous group of grand jury members standing up for America's laws, I’d be criminally indicted for sedition. President Trump has turned the government against people, with raucous support from you and virtually all D.C. Republicans. So spare us the manufactured outrage.
America must be a place where the rule of law still matters. Those laws should apply to everyone equally. If you have aided in the corrupt use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to benefit the President or his family, or you have violated the law in order to carry out guidance from the President, you should be held accountable. And given how rampant that corruption appears to the average American, people looking to work for his Administration should realize that while the Supreme Court has granted the President immunity, it has not done the same for those who do illegal things at his behest.

PS I’ve met Putin many times and listened in on calls with him as well. I also speak Russian. Yes he is soft spoken, deliberate, and measured. So what? He’s still a killer. He still launched a barbaric invasion of Ukraine, that has produced tragic loss of life not seen on this scale in Europe since WWII.
Vance: "I've never met Putin in person. I've spoken to him on the phone. He was calmer than you might expect. The American media has a stereotype of him. He's very deliberate and measured in his words.
I think, at his core, he's someone who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them. One reason he respects the President is that he recognizes the President cares about the interests of the American people."

This is what a real President looks like.
🚨🇺🇸 Obama: "Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had revoked Fox News' credentials from the White House press corps. Imagine if I had told law firms representing parties upset with policies my administration had launched: You won't be allowed in government buildings. We'll punish you economically for opposing the Affordable Care Act or the Iran nuclear deal. We'll go after students protesting my policies.
It's inconceivable that the same people staying silent now would have tolerated such behavior from me or from a large number of my predecessors."
Maybe in degree not kind and only because we have a imperfect but judicial branch with some effectiveness not because of the legislative branch

From one year ago. It was always Trump‘s plan to lift sanctions on Russia, because it’s always been Putin‘s plan.

Trump just waived all of the sanctions on Russia provided for in the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act, just as I and others warned he would.
Trump’s latest surrender to Putin again betrays our Ukrainian partners and defies clear congressional intent of legislation designed to punish Russia for its illegal war of aggression.
Trump has proven he will twist this law and abuse the powers it conferred on him, and while he has let the tariff powers lie for the moment, the law as written also empowers Trump to weaponize new trade authorities against our allies and trading partners.
Congress must fix this flawed law to stop Trump from capitulating to Putin and ensure that it truly supports Ukraine.
Trump order just issued from the White House:
“I am hereby waiving the application of such sanctions, restrictions, and duties [on Russia] provided for in the Graham Act.”
