We're proud to announce the establishment of the Generative Art Foundation Creative Coding Award, made possible by a generous grant from the Generative Art Foundation (@genartfound). Over the next two years, their gift will fund scholarships to Artist Commons for artists working with technology so they can get the resources, mentorship, and community they need to develop their work further.
We're deeply grateful to @jeffgdavis, @ArtOnBlockchain, and the entire team at the Generative Art Foundation for investing in this community of artists and the future of this evolving field.
We're excited to, in a couple weeks, introduce the recipients of the 2026 awards 🎉

We’re launching our DAM Essay Spotlight series with a landmark text in digital art history.
In 1971, Frieder Nake argued computers shouldn’t be used to produce objects for galleries — that the art market had reduced a new methodology to fashion.

These deals run May 15 through May 31. Once inventory is gone, it may be a very long time before you see pricing like this again, possibly never.
Perfect timing for artists, educators, makers, studios, and anyone looking to bring physical drawing and painting into their workflow.
🌑 Once this Blue Moon passes, these prices disappear too.

In the year before the passing of Vera Molnar, she wished to meet Frieder Nake. I organised the meeting at her retirement home in Paris. I withdrew to a corner and let them talk. It was wonderful to watch them converse about life and art.

Announcing Sequence Fest - an upcoming group exhibition exploring works of plotter art in motion. The idea of making frame-by-frame animations with my plotter has been an ongoing obsession bc of the imperfection, quirks, and texture imbued in the result.
