I’ve always wondered why young boys want to be Kings not princes, and young girls want to be princesses and not Queens.
I didn't go to college until I was 30. This gave me a chance to see it with the perspective of an adult.
One lecture in Industrial Psychology, in particular, I will never forget.
The professor spoke about how an effective job description focused on concretely measurable tasks, not vague instructions, or characteristics.
For example, "maintain an 85% or greater average on customer feedback surveys", instead of "be cheerful and upbeat", or even "interact positively with customers".
This means that goals are clear, and performance is measurable. A job is to do something, not be something.
Once some of the students had wrapped their minds around this concept, the professor decided to do a class exercise.
He asked the female students to come up with a job description for "husband". At first, this went fine. The girls noodled around a bit with things they wanted their husbands to be (tall, etc), but he was able to gradually steer them towards describing what they wanted in terms of actions.
But then he asked the male students to define a wife in the same way.
And all the girls became upset. Some of them had full-on meltdowns.
Every single thing that a male student wanted, or expected, from his hypothetical future wife was sexist, oppressive, old-fashioned, misogynistic, patriarchal, etc.
They were literally screaming. Some of them in tears.
And I realized something pretty quickly. It wasn't the actual, concrete responsibilities of the female role that they objected to.
It was the idea of there being a female role at all, with any attached responsibilities.
These women didn't want to be wives. They wanted to be pets.
What's a pet? Well a pet is not a wife, or a friend. A pet is a creature of instinct, which you bring into your home because you like how it naturally behaves.
You get a cat because you want to behave like a cat, and do things a cat naturally does, like play with string, and purr when you pet him. If he's smart, he'll adapt to you somewhat, but he doesn't have responsibilities other than "be a cat".
If you get a wife, you get a wife so she will do things for you, specific things that are the responsibilities of wife, like care for your home, bear and raise your children, cook nutritious meals so you don't have to eat processed slop, look after your emotional well-being, and so on.
These girls didn't want to be held responsible for those things. As married women, they might have anticipated doing some of them, but only some of the time. Only when they felt like it.
The cat chases the string if and when it wants to, not because chasing the string is its job.
These young millenial women didn't realize it, but they wanted to be pets. And that's what they were in their college relationships. They hung out with guys when they wanted to, had sex with them when they wanted to, broke up with them for someone new when they wanted to.
Their relationships had no element of reciprocal responsibilities. They were perfectly at home with the idea of men having responsibilities to them, but they would repay those men if they chose, and how they chose, not how the men actually wanted.
And as I've said twice already, someone you have responsibilities to, but who has none to you, is a pet, or a child.
Since our ancestors, in a moment of foolishness and weakness, allowed women to vote, it is no longer legal to dole out the corrective spankings a great many of them both need and read pornographic novels about.
Therefore, the corrective measure, for any man who finds himself with a pet instead of a wife, is to withdraw from any husbandly duties and start actively searching for alternatives.
This can either result in a correction of the behavior, or the end of a relationship that offers no value. Either is acceptable.
This may strike some of you as dishonorable, but there is no honor in keeping a broken pact, or in serving those who despise you.
Men must have the pride and self-worth to say "I will be honored and respected, or I will depart to a place where I can be, even if I must be alone there."
Men must honor and respect themselves.

Seriously, what the actual fuck is this? We talk about the hands of RICU being all over stories we read about - and we know that the likes of the VTU harass families of victims of terrorism and other high-profile crimes, while the 77th Brigade and others plant stories and influence debate on social media, but this is insane. They’re skipping all that bother and penning entire stories themselves and using our national public service broadcaster - which the public funds under threat of criminal penalty - to push them. This is genuinely Soviet level propagandising.
Sorry, I can’t be the only one who realises how sinister this is? Civil servants are writing articles for the BBC from within the BBC - young graduates on the Fast Stream (a more leftist group of people you could not find) no less. Not only that, but the BBC is simply crediting them as “BBC News” or “BBC Verify” so readers have no clue they’re reading state-sponsored spin written by a government worker. What the fuck?

I believe everyone will know some examples like these:
Remember about 15 years ago when they filmed this guy and laughed at him for being inarticulate in a working class accent when he was saying that Muslim rape gangs were real and then it turned out later that actually he was 100% right and the police had been covering it up and participating and it was worse than anyone could have possibly imagined and the rape gangs became a massive public scandal?

Your timely reminder that Melenchon is a Holocaust revisionist, an antisemite, and a conspiracist.
Marching orders:
“It’s all because of the Zionists. This is what happens when the Zionist entity runs France. They blame Muslims, and Algerians in particular, for everything. We need to vote. I hereby call on all French citizens of foreign origin, especially the French-Algerian community. We are 6 million people. We are the majority. […] We stand with LFI [the far-left party]. They have solutions.”

“Why are young people economic leftists?”
I can’t answer this question for the francophone world, but in the United States my answer/s would be:
1) young people are broadly extremely misinformed about the structure of Western economic systems. Many of them are convinced that our economies are far more laissez-faire and deregulated than they actually are.
2) young people are extremely misinformed about the sheer quantity of government spending, and especially how much the government spends relative to the income/wealth of the richest people (e.g. all the assets of every billionaire in America would fund single payer healthcare for a year and a half)
3) young people broadly feel like the ability to accumulate wealth is not a benefit to them and like they are locked out of systems of asset accumulation.
4) in youth circles, economic griping is paradoxically often “high status.” developing radical political approaches wrt cost of living is generally viewed positively.

the naturally follow-up is “why do they think that’s the solution?”

These Big Brother UK contestants will one day have their own Ross Kemp moment.
Remember when Kemp sat stunned as he learned almost everything he believed about incels was wrong. He thought they were a massive, mostly white, right-leaning threat to national security who killed lots of women.
Those ideas, fed by media and official briefings, turned out to be false.
Same energy here. They treat anyone right of centre as a permanent threat to society. ❌
They assume conservatives are mostly bigots, racists and fascists. ❌
They think their media bubble has the full picture. ❌
Those preconceptions will eventually collide with reality the same way.
This Big Brother debate is a perfect snapshot of the hysteria we’re dealing with. A conservative mentions he thinks Reform will win the next election and the house reacts like he’s announced a purge.
Zero basis in anything he’s actually said or what the party has proposed.
They’re treating him like a cartoon supervillain for holding ordinary views.
One housemate is genuinely convinced that if Reform form the government, “my friends who are gender nonconforming are in danger. My friends who aren’t white are in danger. I genuinely believe that”.
No evidence offered. No policy cited. Just the media line repeated as fact: Reform are dangerous, Reform are racist, and anyone who supports them is a threat.
Another piles on: “My mum wears a burqa and I get scared wondering if she’ll come home from work. You worry about lower taxes and I worry about whether my mum’s going to come home at night.”
Lower taxes framed as callous privilege, while unfounded fears about ethnic and sexual minorities being hunted are treated as serious analysis.
This is exactly why the media keeps pushing this stuff. It still lands with enough people.
These housemates are living in a state of constant, manufactured dread over a right-wing party simply winning an election. It’s not healthy, and it has almost nothing to do with reality.

In addition to what everyone else has said, small children are also extremely tribal and exclusionary, hierarchical, conventional, retributive, territorial, and fantasy-prone. They constantly reinvent sexism and racism from first principles & have to be manipulated to avoid it.

It’s funny because literally the only people “resources” work on are smart people. You can spend $5 trillion trying to solve poverty or whatever, and nothing happens. But if you give money or opportunity to smart people, you will see results. We stopped doing that.

My takeaway from reading the Koran is that it was surprisingly boring. It's not like the bible which is a series of legends imbued with spirituality, it's literally just Mohammed sitting in the desert telling people what they should & shouldn't do & they just go along with it.
Replying to @TheGhostSleepi1
I understand why people come up with grand conspiracies to explain Islam's origins, supernatural or otherwise. But if you read the Quran cover-to-cover, it's akin to reading a scam email from a Nigerian prince. A blatant, banal piece of fraud by Mohammed.
