Mr. Senator, I've held my tongue time after time as you have pandered to the lowest common denominator on the populist right because of the deep respect I have for your sense of constitutionalism. But I cannot let this stand. The police officers who faced what they faced on January 6th held the line against a challenge to the peaceful transition of power as an angry, violent mob displaced you and Congress while in the midst of performing duties mandated by the Constitution. We know what happened, the world was watching. We know who's responsible, the culprits are clear. But you have the audacity to say things you know aren't true, to claim it was an inside job. Shame on you.
