“We were willing to be kind, generous, and even agreed to share the land,” says this Israeli diplomat to me. A reminder that at partition, in 1947, Jews owned 7% of the land. This guy says they were willing to “share” the 93% that wasn’t even theirs. There is a word for that.
We were willing to be kind, generous, and even agreed to share the land. But apparently, our willingness to compromise made you mistake our goodwill for weakness - and believe that the land was yours to claim. Let me be clear: it is not. It never was. And it never will be. The Land of Israel is the historic homeland of the Jewish people. Our willingness to share it does not erase our history, diminish our rights, or make anyone else its owner.

I’ve had the opportunity to view NAZA, the investigative documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. Much has already been written about it, so I’ll limit myself to one comment: In 1979 Edward W. Said published his seminal essay, “Zionism from the Standpoint of Its Victims”. I think NAZA is best described as “Zionism from the Standpoint of Its Perpetrators". If there is one documentary that encapsulates how Zionism relates to Palestinians, as individuals and as a people, this is it.

🚨🏥 NURSING SHORTAGES – SO WHY ARE WE TRAINING FEWER NURSES? Hospitals, GP clinics and community health services are already under pressure, so why would New Zealand reduce the number of nurses being trained? This latest article from Thomas Pikkety, the renowned French economist and leading authority on wealth inequality, should be essential reading here in the UK. His argument is simple. France has never been wealthier. Yet education funding per student has fallen by 20% since 2017, public services are struggling, and inequality is deeply embedded in the system. Sound familiar? The problem isn't that our countries have run out of wealth. It's how that wealth is distributed, who controls it, and the political choices made to protect it. For decades, we've been told that austerity, declining public services and falling living standards are unavoidable consequences of economic crises, yet those same decades have seen extraordinary concentrations of private wealth. Socialise the costs. Privatise the gains. This is the reality we all need to wake up to. These aren't inevitable economic outcomes. They're the consequences of political choices, made over time, that have prioritised the accumulation of private wealth over the needs of society. And as public anger grows, we're seeing a deeply concerning response: The rise of the far right, directing that anger towards immigrants, disabled people, those claiming welfare and other vulnerable groups, rather than towards the economic structures responsible for the inequalities people are rightly furious about. As @NaomiAKlein describes fascism, "it's capitalism's most ferocious threat response. A way of directing public anger downwards at the vulnerable, rather than upwards at the system." Fascism doesn't challenge the status quo. It protects it by giving people someone else to blame. The fundamental question isn't whether our societies can afford something better. It's why, when we've never been wealthier, we're repeatedly told we must accept less. We need to fundamentally rethink an economy built around extraction, exploitation and wealth concentration, and start building one that delivers equitable, sustainable prosperity for everyone. And with the UK Budget next week, this should be a serious warning to @UKLabour. If the Budget fails to acknowledge this fundamental reality, and instead offers another round of "difficult decisions" that protect concentrated wealth while asking ordinary people to shoulder the burden, then @andyburnham really hasn't understood what's happening across Europe. What's unfolding in France isn't an isolated protest. It's a warning of what happens when people stop accepting that a society growing ever wealthier somehow can't afford to give them a better life. This isn't something politicians can keep kicking down the road. The warning signs are everywhere. The question now is whether those in power are prepared to confront the causes, or continue defending the very system that's driving the anger. @ZackPolanski @jeremycorbyn @KemiBadenoch @Nigel_Farage

Sublime.
Keith Jarrett’s solo performance of “Over the Rainbow” in Tokyo in 1984 is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding and moving piano solo covers of all time. Rather than simply restating the familiar melody, the legendary pianist infused the piece with new life through his brilliant improvisation, refined harmonic structure, and profound emotional depth.

That's literally how Israel was created. Here's two British policemen they murdered, hung publicly, and placed hidden bombs on their bodies in order to kill those that tried to bury them.
I have never seen a mob of Jewish citizens migrate to other countries and riot. Ever.

Where on earth are you getting this from? Do you know that after the Israeli expulsion of Palestinians in 1948, all those who remained were put under martial law in Israel until 1966? They could not leave their villages and towns without a travel pass. Thousands were imprisoned in labor camps. You write as if you have never been there or seen it with your own eyes. You say you "think" that I am just lying. Please look at yourself. That is a classic psychological defense mechanism to avoid having to re-evaluate tightly held beliefs. I am not lying about anything. My history in Israel goes back to 1971. I studied in university there. I studied in yeshivas there. I speak, read and write Hebrew. Why would I lie? Please look at where your beliefs come from. What makes you believe them?
Replying to @RabbiMivasair
I think you are just lying. You know that in the aftermath of the 1948 war, there was approx 200,000 Arabs in Israel proper. They were offered full citizenship, most accepted. Today they and their descendants number 2 million. That is not what a people being ethnically cleansed experience. In the entire Middle East, only the Arabs in Israel proper have all of their religious and civil rights protected by law. That is not what a people being ethnically cleansed experience. The Arabs in Israel go about their daily lives, shop at Israeli malls, use Israeli services, frequent Israeli restaurants and bars, send their children to study at the many universities, and receive Israeli social and health benefits. That is not what a people being ethnically cleansed experience. You know that Israeli Arabs are the most educated Arabs in the world, with the best living standards and opportunities in the region. Arabs serve as judges in the Israeli Supreme Court; Some of the best doctors in Israel are Arabs, working in almost every hospital in the country; They vote in open and free elections. They can run for office in these elections. That is not what a people being ethnically cleansed experience. In fact there are 10 Arab members of parliament who enjoy the right to criticize the government – a right that they exhaust to the fullest – protected by the freedom of speech; That is not what a people being ethnically cleansed experience.

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites @bbclaurak @bbcnickrobinson @JustinOnWeb @BBCr4today
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous” Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

Never has the concept of Liberal Zionism looked more absurd and contradictory. It almost makes you feel sorry for people who simply can't accept the evidence before their eyes that the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians was inevitable from the very beginning of Zionism. As Theodor Herzl wrote in his diary on June 2nd 1895: “We must expropriate gently the private property on the estates assigned to us. We shall try to spirit the penniless population across the border by procuring employment for it in the transit countries, while denying it employment in our own country. The property owners will come over to our side. Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly.”
“settlers are undermining the settler project” guys we’re reaching levels of liberalism heretofore thought impossible

A timely reminder that leaked Israeli studies found that pushing pro-Israel propaganda to Westerners didnt work & instead they advised spending millions blasting the West with racist Islamophobic content demonizing Muslims instead. I think about that a lot while browsing Twitter

TRUMP'S 3-DAY AIRPLANE: PAPE REVEALS THE 72-HOUR DECAPITATION PLAN University of Chicago professor Robert Pape just laid out the actual military plan now pressing on the White House. It is a specific, time-bound air campaign whose window is already closing. Every day the tankers stay in range, the pressure to use them grows. THE 3-DAY AIR CAMPAIGN ➡️ There is an enormous incentive for Trump to execute his three-day airplane because it is use it or lose it. ➡️ Axios leaks describe something that looks exactly like Instant Thunder from 1991, the three-day campaign designed to decapitate Saddam’s regime and paralyze it. ➡️ The target is the mosaic command-and-control structure of the IRGC. Eight months of signals intelligence have already identified many nodes. ➡️ It is not one more strike on the Supreme Leader. It is a comprehensive leadership attack across dozens of bunkers, paired with hits on electric power and refineries to create paralysis. THE TANKER DEPENDENCY ➡️ That three-day airplane turns on aerial refueling tankers the same way the Schlieffen plan turned on the railroads. ➡️ Without those tankers the coordinated campaign that could paralyze the IRGC in a truly significant way simply cannot be executed. ➡️ Iran is almost certainly tracking every one of them. Knocking the tankers out would be the modern equivalent of Austria-Hungary’s mobilization. THE INTERLOCKING TIMETABLE ➡️ Trump now sits in a pure use-it-or-lose-it position. He either runs the plan or accepts further embarrassment around the midterms. ➡️ Once the air campaign starts, Houthis can exploit the distraction to hit additional Saudi facilities. ➡️ The sequences unfold over 72 hours, not four weeks. ➡️ Military timetables interacting with poisonous politics is exactly what turned the July 1914 crisis into World War I. Pape hopes we are not studying the same pattern ten or twenty years from now. THE BOTTOM LINE The plan on the table is a short, high-intensity air campaign whose entire feasibility rests on a handful of vulnerable tankers. Once those tankers are gone or the political window closes, the option disappears and the embarrassment remains. The clock is already running. #IranWar #InstantThunder #TrumpPlan #UseItOrLoseIt #Pape #MilitaryTimetable #Midterms HT: YouTube Mario Nafwal

Just how big was the Israeli “zero-click” malware attack? @citizenlab researcher @billmarczak tells me, “The ads were at an enormous scale…hundreds of millions of impressions, meaning hundreds of millions of these ads were shown on devices over a period of a few months…even devices that don't get hacked, that aren't the quote, unquote real targets, there is still quite a bit of invasive data collection from those devices. So we're talking on the order of millions and millions of devices.”
