While we yearn for a working country, some of us affiliate with crony politicians along tribal and ethnic lines, or simply because we get a few coins from them. Others believe they ought to support a leader just to punish those who chose the “bad” leader, now that it has dawned on them. Some of us also believe there is salvation in the opposing team. While it may save us, none is ready to explain why we need change as a country. A country with no political maturity, cutting across the political divide, is bound to deteriorate economically and socially. We've had the head of state resorting to slogans and hurling insults at the opposing team. It is not necessarily his ignorance, but a reflection of the people. People believe that whoever has the best slogan or insult is the way to go. I rest, my country people. I cease to engage in our politics unless it is policy driven.
