The Brewers are being celebrated like they invented baseball. They are doing things that have become unusual. They have an old school tough manager who players love playing for. They focus on basic easy to understand basic fundamentals. They have a hitting coach that was an overachieving player for skill that played in the big leagues. They hit the ball the other way. They value putting the ball in play. They adjust their approach based on situation and count. They are not addicted to exit velocity and launch angle bullshit. They bunt and steal bases. They do not have selfish superstars that need to be treated like celebrities. The Brewers simply play the game how it was meant to be played.

🚨 BREAKING: The White House just told middle-class Americans exactly where their paychecks have been going, and it's infuriating. From the podium: "If you're a middle class taxpayer in this country, before President Trump came along, you spent half your working life paying for fraudsters and scammers." Think about that. You paid every parking ticket and did everything the right way. Meanwhile, fake day cares billed for kids who didn't exist, and the crooks bought Mercedes, BMWs and mansions on your dime. The administration says it's already recovered a quarter of a trillion dollars and is aiming for a trillion. The looting is over. Time to take it all back.

Hey @grok how much have health insurance premiums for America's gone up since the Democrats passed Obamacare?
REMINDER: Republicans doubled, tripled and even quadrupled your healthcare premiums because their billionaire donors wanted a tax break.

Rand Paul reveals Washington spent $4,600,000 of YOUR money to find out whether getting drunk makes you FALL DOWN. Another $3,000,000 went to studying whether eating ants fights global warming. $7,000,000 on a “smart toilet” that photographs your backside. And $2,000,000 to learn if hot tubs help you relax. Rand Paul kept the receipts. It gets dumber: • NIH spent $1,000,000 to help people get over their fear of the dentist. • USAID spent $48,000,000 to help disconnected Tunisian youth cope with modern society. • NIH spent $36,000,000 to find out why stress turns hair gray. • Washington even sent money to Central America to train people on how to apply for U.S. grants. Yes, really. We paid them to get better at taking our money. Not one American with an ounce of common sense would vote to approve a dime of this garbage. The government pisses away billions like this and never stops asking for MORE.

Abolish property taxes. They are the biggest scam in the history of our country. The fact you can own land, build a house, pay off your loan, and still lose it all to the government over property taxes should be illegal. How the heck is this considered constitutional?

in 1933 americans were ordered to hand in their gold. the price they were paid was $20.67 an ounce. nine months later the government priced gold at $35. not a market move. a decision. executive order 6102 was signed on 5 april 1933. gold coin, gold bullion and gold certificates had to be delivered to the federal reserve by the first of may. holding on to it carried a fine of $10,000 or ten years, or both. the gold reserve act was signed on 30 january 1934. the next day the official price went from $20.67 to $35, and the treasury booked close to $3 billion on the difference. here is the part almost nobody takes from this, because everyone stops at the confiscation. nobody who handed in gold was wrong about gold. they were right about it. it was worth 69% more in dollars within a year of them letting go of it. what they had misjudged was not the asset. it was who set the price, and who was permitted to hold it. neither of those is a property of gold. both are properties of the rulebook. and the entity writing the rulebook was on the other side of the transaction. every position you own sits on top of a rule. the rule is usually invisible, usually stable, and never a constant. seven cases where structure decided the outcome and nobody's forecast mattered are pinned. this one belongs with them.

During a recent press conference, a reporter with MSNBC hollered from the press corps, "Where is President Trump hiding his tax returns?" Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, astutely responded, "We've found a very secure place and I'm certain they won't be found." "And just where is that?" said the reporter sarcastically. Mrs. Sanders grinned sardonically and said, "They are underneath Obama's college records, his passport application, his immigration status as a student, his funding sources to pay for college, his college records, and his Selective Service registration."

HYPOTHETICALLY… IF I BOUGHT MY HOUSE FOR $125,000 IN 2002 AND THE COUNTY NOW SAYS IT’S WORTH $487,000, WHERE DID I ACTUALLY MAKE $362,000? Did I sell it? No. Did I receive $362,000? No. Did somebody hand me a check for the new assessed value? Obviously not. But my property taxes still go up because, on paper, my house is suddenly worth hundreds of thousands more. That’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me. This isn’t income. It isn’t cash sitting in my bank account. It’s a number someone assigned to my property, and now I’m being billed based on that number. If my stock portfolio doubles but I don’t sell, I haven’t turned that gain into cash. If my salary stays the same, I don’t suddenly owe more income tax because someone thinks I’m worth more. So why does owning a home work differently? WHY AM I PAYING TAX ON A GAIN I NEVER REALIZED? A house isn’t just an investment. It’s where people live. You can pay off the mortgage, own the property outright, and still face a bigger bill every year because the value of the house went up on paper. At some point, you have to ask what “owning” something actually means if the cost of keeping it can keep rising because of money you never received. THIS ISN’T ABOUT WHETHER THE HOUSE IS “WORTH” MORE. IT’S ABOUT BEING CHARGED FOR VALUE YOU NEVER TURNED INTO CASH. And people are starting to notice.
