GPT-6 Astra is here. We hope it will begin to enable a new generation of entrepreneurship, scientific discovery, and building. We believe it is the best model in the world for computer use, professional work, science, coding, cybersecurity, and more. It took us some extra time to ensure that we could meet the safety and alignment standards required for this capability level, but we think you’ll find it worth the wait. It scores 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4, 99.9% on ARC-AGI 3, and 100% on ExploitBench.

Hilarious video of @gabrielhaines mocking Layah Heilpern. Word for word. Cracked me up so much I had to put them side by side.

🚨 Two years ago, I was detained in Paris by police for 3 days — the longest they can hold someone before charging them. In an unprecedented move, French authorities accused the head of a major platform of crimes committed by its users. That investigation is still ongoing, although it makes less sense with each passing year. Why? Because we now have extensive evidence that Telegram was neither worse than other popular platforms at moderation, nor the worst at cooperating with authorities. So why was Telegram singled out? Over the last two years, we have seen a pattern emerge in multiple countries: Telegram is quietly asked to grant political favors — such as illegal censorship or surveillance. When we refuse, local media and “non-governmental” organizations launch orchestrated campaigns portraying Telegram as a cesspool of crime, from child pornography to terrorism. Our moderation is no worse than that of other major platforms. Yet these campaigns instill the idea that Telegram should be persecuted or restricted. Suddenly, officials start caring about crime and protecting children — but only on platforms that reject their secret political demands. Platforms that accept such deals get away with almost anything — including literally selling ads promoting child pornography. Is the French investigation against me political? It certainly fits the pattern we see elsewhere, mostly in authoritarian countries. And it definitely raises questions. In time, this investigation may itself be investigated — especially now that Macron’s war against free speech is facing pushback. This month, France’s Constitutional Council struck down his social media ban for children under 15 on freedom-of-expression grounds. In the end, freedom and truth will prevail ✊

Introducing Claude Opus 5. It's a thoughtful and proactive model that comes close to the frontier intelligence of Fable 5 at half the price.

Update: Opus 5 is already live for some accounts, served as "Opus 4.8" in Claude web and Claude Code. It knows things 4.8 doesn't and the output gap is clear, especially frontend.
Claude Opus 5 now appears to be rolling out across providers.

we've eval-ing K3 and we were legit shocked K3 is incredibly good at @HyperFrames_ , winning over GPT-5.6 and Fable 5 at a few of our benchmarks it recreated motion graphics from @leomeethewoo with minimal prompting (i didn't further tune the animations to show raw output)

You literally closed by account without reason and have kept nearly £12,000 you have not returned. You said it was because of Bitcoin, but I never used @wise to buy Bitcoin. It turned out it was because a Bitcoin company paid an invoice. You froze my account, froze my funds and have not returned a VAT payment that was sent to you.
Replying to @KarolisRudelis

Kimi K3 was already in internal evaluation by April/May, before Fable 5 had been available long enough to be a plausibly distilled. I’ll wait for the evidence from the USG if they’ll publish it. However Kimi already outperformed Fable on BrowserComp, so if K3.1 beats Fable 5 on coding benchmarks, are people going to claim it distilled Fable 6? Obviously it’s not only distillation here. Saying “mythos” would have made a lot more sense but fable ?
We have information that Moonshot AI distilled Anthropic’s Fable for the development of its K3 model. To do this they developed a sophisticated internal platform to conduct large scale distillation against U.S. models, allowing them to quickly switch between multiple methods of access to avoid detection. Moonshot AI has also acquired GB300-equipped servers and has accessed GB300s in Thailand, likely to train its AI models.   The United States strongly supports the free and fair development of AI, including a thriving competitive ecosystem that spans frontier models, specialized systems, open-source frameworks, and open-weight models. Legitimate AI distillation used to create smaller, more efficient models plays a vital role in this open innovation ecosystem. However, large-scale, covert industrial distillation aimed at stealing proprietary U.S. technology and undermining American research is unacceptable.

Beginning July 20, Claude Fable 5 will be included in all Max and Team Premium plans, at 50% of limits. Pro and Team Standard users will continue to have access to Fable via usage credits, and will receive a one-time $100 credit. Demand for Fable has been challenging to predict, which is why we rolled it out to subscription plans in stages, extending access several times as we secured additional capacity.

Grok 4.5 is a "Wow!" moment. 🤯 > Opus 4.8 & GPT-5.5 level on benchmarks > Costs less than Sonnet 5 Is that real? Hard to believe. Added Grok 4.5 as an implementer agent in fable-advisor. It replaces Sonnet 5. Use Fable as the orchestrator and a combo of: 1. Grok 4.5 2. Opus 4.8 3. GPT-5.5 As implementer agents. Uses the Grok Build CLI so if you log in with an X premium account you don't have to pay API fees.
