Terence Crawford told The Breakfast Club that a rematch with Canelo Alvarez was "off the table" because their original contract did not include a rematch clause, adding that he would only have fought the Mexican star again if such a provision had been included.
Ryan Garcia will put his WBC welterweight title on the line against Conor Benn on Sept. 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Turki Alalshikh announced on social media.
The championship fight will be a Ring Magazine show, co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Zuffa Boxing.
Zuffa Boxing has made a milestone signing, securing four-division champion Shakur Stevenson to a multifight deal.
"Shakur is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. He's 29 years old, undefeated and already a four-division world champion," Dana White said.
Andy Ruiz Jr. has signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.
“I’m so happy and thankful for signing with Matchroom and taking other step forward to continue my mission and to become a two-time champion of the world for Mexico,” said Ruiz Jr (36).
Artur Beterbiev says his priority is a trilogy fight with Dmitry Bivol before facing David Benavidez.
“I really want the rubber match. I think everyone wants it,” Beterbiev told DAZN. After splitting two fights with Bivol, he believes he won the rematch more convincingly.
Speaking with Yahoo Japan, Naoya Inoue’s promoter, Hideyuki Ohashi, strongly hinted that a long-anticipated clash with Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez is being lined up for February next year, even if Rodriguez takes another fight in the meantime.
“My strength and conditioning coach said that I can make 140 comfortably,” Ryan Garcia tells ESPN’s First Take. “I trust the people in my team around me. If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to fight Shakur or we can bring Gervonta back from wherever he’s at.”
