Hello world! I'm excited to share the new animated logo for my studio. The concept was "a box bursting with creativity." #pixelart #indiedev #indiegames
I'm quite obsessed with the #AppleWatch as a gaming platform. It's a hyper-portable supercomputer on your wrist with a higher resolution (and incomparably higher compute power) than the Gameboy Color. The fact that it doesn't have that many games on it is insane to me.
At the same time, I think only a small percentage of folks in the indie game scene have an Apple Watch. And essentially no one thinks about the watch as a gaming platform. It'll be interesting to see whether Apple Watch users would embrace #indiegames like #StepRPG that are made specifically for the platform.
Adding shops to my #AppleWatch game. There will be an NPC who will sell items and eggs, which you can hatch into pets. Still work-in-progress.
A quick look at leveling up in my #IndieGame, StepRPG. The game is essentially a toy that you take with you on your wrist wherever you go. It encourages you to walk 10,000 steps each day and rewards you with exp, coins, items, pets, and access to new adventures. #ShowMeSunday
Wow… waking up to see that the post has reached over 30k people overnight is quite overwhelming—thanks so much for all the love and a very happy hello to everyone! 😀👋

A closer look at procedurally-generated houses for my #IndieGame, StepRPG. Since I'm designing this game for the #AppleWatch, the houses need to be as tiny as possible. Overall my motivation for adding houses and towns is to provide the player with a shop where they can use their coins to buy pets. #ScreenshotSaturday
“Boxbrain” speaks to my fondness for abstractions and for keeping things organized. It’s about simplifying complex ideas by putting them into neat (mental) containers. I’m organized about my life and physical workspace and I use a similar approach when it comes to building software products. How I solve any problem is by breaking them down into smaller, clearly-conceptualized parts. I often half-jokingly say that what I do everyday is “putting things into boxes.”
Procedurally-generated #pixelart towns for my #indiegame, StepRPG. The game nudges you to walk 10,000 steps each day to level up your hero and evolve your pets. It will be playable on the #AppleWatch and iOS.

Making soldier sprites for my game in the top-down, 16x16 px format. Weapons, helmets, and armor will be modularly equipable. It'll be fun to see battles with armies of these little guys.
