Have to say to @SECNetwork and @MattBarrie 1) I like Matt a LOT 2) He just doesn't seem to be the best choice to MC SEC Nation (it still needs someone connected to the SEC)

This type of text ad is what has turned me to not vote for many/any R's: "Should a Muslim be allowed to run Harris County? Letitia Plummer Is a Muslim and the Democrat Candidate for Harris County Judge. The Muslims’ goal is to overthrow the U.S. Constitution and force Sharia Law on Harris Country, Texas and America. Orlando Sanchez is the Republican Candidate for County Judge and has pledged to support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Don't let the Muslims Sharia Harris County! Pol. Ad. Campaign for Houston" @orlando_sanchez @CMPlummer4

My Research: Supporting the Constitution is a requirement for both candidates. Texas’s official oath requires officeholders to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. and Texas constitutions and laws. That obligation would apply to Plummer just as it would to Sanchez. A county judge has no lawful authority to replace constitutional protections with compulsory religious law. And barring someone from public office because of religion would itself violate constitutional religious freedom protections. The Supreme Court established that states cannot impose religious qualifications for public office in Torcaso v. Watkins. 367 U.S. 488 (1961) One can reasonably oppose either candidate over taxes, public safety, spending, competence, or documented conduct. Religion alone is not evidence of a plan to overthrow the Constitution. If any candidate actually advocated compulsory religious government, that specific position would deserve scrutiny regardless of their faith.

During a round of golf with my golfing buddies, we ended up talking some politics...unfortunately. They said the reason why Trump/Hegseth needs more Defense budget is because Biden didn't spend anything during his tenure. I inquired to them how they knew that. Their responses were.....emotional to say the least. The one thing I hate are statements that have no back-up or proof. Thus, I went researching and these are OMB nominal and adjusted for inflation to 2024 numbers for the 4 years each were in office: - Trump 1.0 spend = $2.64T nominal/$3.27T adjusted - Biden spend = $3.21T nominal/$3.41T adjusted The argument does not stand up that Biden spent less than Trump's 1st administration. This is what I like to do: research FACTS to cut across the bullshit that is believed by so many out there. BTW: Trump 2.0 is on a pace to spend over $5T while to be in office this term, with at least 10% of that apparently being to replenish what has been spent on the Iran "conflict".

What I don't get is to hear all the Republicans say in speeches and TV ads that they are to "fix" things. Yet, they have had control of Executive and Legislative branches for a while now, not just nationally, but in many states. Why haven't they fixed things already? (note: I usually don't ask questions I don't know the answers to already....) That message doesn't resonate with me because what could the Democrats do to improve when they haven't held control of those branches all this time. Time for a change.

The not-so-honorable @SenEricSchmitt , you must be one of those Trump lackies so hell-bent on getting Jack Smith that you and your staff found "evidence" that was WRONG!!! You are the dirt bag, sir! While you are at it, fix the economy and get us out of the war that Trump has us all messed up in!

I keep saying this, but to no avail: PROVE IT! (DJT continues to spew lies)

And there are those who thought voting for Kamala Harris would put America in a poorer position than where we are now. She wasn't the best opposing candidate, but would America be in the position it is now if she were President?

Again, a terrible President and CiC who thinks that whatever he says will become true. That may have happened in his business dealings, but it doesn't work in his current role. He has ruined America, its position in the Global order, and eroded the American dream.
Trump has claimed victory 37 times, he has said a deal is “imminent” 24 times, he has even claimed the war has already been won 12 times, but the realty? It’s now June and Iran is shooting down US Apache helicopters, don’t forget Iran was the first country in history to successfully take down a US F-35 and the Strait of Hormuz is still under Iranian control 🤡 Trump doesn’t hold the cards and has no way out of this utter mess. He can only try to distract the American public by falling asleep at basketball games, and turning the White House into a cage match for his UFC fight. Lowest ratings for US President since the week Nixon resigned. Trump is an absolute disaster for the USA

What the actual F! whitehouse.gov/mediabias/ Trump just can't stand anyone who questions him or states the truth. I am so ashamed we have a President who is the furthest from acting like a President. I so wish more people were like @kwelkernbc How the hell did you all vote for him??
32
Soooo, @JohnCornyn I saw you interviewed saying you will oppose @jamestalarico ... Why? (Why can't you admit he's better than Paxton??) If it's just because he's a Dem, then screw you.... I am sick and tired of all you trumpsters not standing up to that less-than-qualified President.

You represent ME, not him. I want you to useyour last months in office doing what's right for Texans.... NOT trump!!

And how screwed up this has been. @POTUS has acheived so very little since this post was put up back in March...
For nearly a half a century, the Iranian regime has been slaughtering Americans. President Trump is doing what other Presidents have refused to do — eliminate the Iranian threat so no more American blood is spilled by these terrorists. 🧵THREAD:
