The novelty of being overpowered wears off very fast once you realize nothing in the game is engaging you. Your brain mentally clocks out at that point as you are on autopilot until the credits roll.

People who use a rating system like this probably don’t think much about the games they play. They’ll just rate anything competently made a 7-8/10, such as most Nintendo games, by default regardless of actual quality.

Saving anywhere trivializes any challenge in Vengeance. Not to mention there isn't much to stop you from making hilariously broken builds to trivialize 99% of the game's content.

You can also just kinda avoid encounters which pretty much removes any risk of exploring. You also don't have to worry about hama and mudo given they're no longer plain instakill moves.

Naoki Hamaguchi says FF7 Revelation will have an option at a certain point in the game to automatically raise your characters level to to recommended level to progress for those that only want to play the main story. He says he got a lot of feedback from players only wanting to play the main story in Rebirth and skip the side content, that they were under leveled and struggled. He says he wants players who want to skip the open-world experience to have a similar linear story driven experience to FF7 Remake so they will include an option that pops up at a certain point asking "Do you want to automatically raise the level to the recommended level?" This proves that Arlo is a moron lmao. The auto-jump may have been born of console limitations but it was used in such a way that games were designed around it, more specifically puzzle design in dungeons. It's not just some mindless feature. It's implementation was intentional
