scary amount #marineplastic washing up on our beaches this week. Poss due to seasonal weather. Most of it old - degrading into #microplastics. Some #CSO sewage. Majority from careless #beach users. Volunteers & #SouthernWater sponsored cleaner been busy clearing it. #thanet
#BotanyBay brothers and local #beachclean volunteers, Reuben and Lyndon, did spectacularly well at this weekend's British Schools Modern #Biathlon Championship in Telford. Great role models for all kids today! @bbcsoutheast theisleofthanetnews.com/2023…
Our #SouthernWater sponsored #beachcleaner out as usual today. SW funding ends in May. No word if it will continue. After the progress of the last few years it would be a tragedy if tons of litter were once again left to simply pile up on our beaches & clifftops @cmackinlay
Volunteers in the community fruit orchard/ #wildflower meadow at Knockholt Rd over the weekend. Spreading tree mulch around the @Growatbrogdale trees and fruit bushes. #Kent #Thanet #volunteering
Beautiful, foggy conditions this afternoon here in #BotanyBay #Thanet #Kent as our @southernwater sponsored #beachclean chap is out and about litter picking the clifftop and #beaches .
Winter storms have brought more #oceanplastic ashore along our coastline. Well done to our #DukeofEdinburgh volunteers and @SouthernWater sponsored beach cleaners, collecting up sack-loads more than usual over recent days, especially in this icy weather. #thanet #beachclean
Video, taken today, demonstrates problem of plastic pollution around #Thanet's coastline. Thanks to our #DukeofEdinburghAward candidate, Josh, for sharing. @SouthernWater funding for our #beachclean team is helping, but more needs to be done. @cmackinlay @bbcsoutheast

Glad to help out. A successful afternoon.
Constituency day (Fri) - good to drop in #Cliftonville East Councillors community #Christmas lunch St Philip’s, Palm Bay. Assisted by @botany_of. Our own chef & local Councillor Cedric Towning as ever serving up a triumph; thank you for the many donations making it a success.
Thanks to @IsleThanetNews for raising the profile of fundraising effort for #treeplanting in #PalmBay #cliftonville #thanet. Now down to local residents to respond to improve their local environment theisleofthanetnews.com/2022…
Well done to @MilesandBarr #estateagents #kent for kickstarting fundraiser for trees in Palm Bay #thanet. Let's re-green our streets! Donate via @gofundme @CllrLesley @cmackinlay @kentlivenews @bbcsoutheast gofund.me/a5811db3
Our @SouthernWater funded beach cleaner put in another 5 hours this morning from #JossBay to Botany Bay. Funding for this runs out in May next year. Hopefully we will be able to encourage them to continue. It's making a big difference to the #ecology and beauty of our #beaches
Our @southernwater sponsored beach cleaner had another busy morning along from
Kingsgate and Botany. Three sackloads of litter, including plastics and fishing gear. #beachclean #oceanplastics #Kent #Thanet
20+ volunteers cleaned #BotanyBay #KingsgateBay and Foreness yesterday. Leaving beaches pristine for residents to enjoy this Winter. #Kent #Thanet @IsleThanetNews
We had a beach cleaned pre-planned tomorrow. We considered cancelling but it seems more respectful to a lifetime of stoic service to continue. Meeting 11am Botany Road beach entrance CT10 3SE. @IsleThanetNews @CllrLesley @cmackinlay fb.me/e/22o81Y4zC
Cleared up on same day. Well done and thanks to @ThanetDC street clean teams.
@EnforcementTdc @ThanetDC we know it's a nightmare for you street teams but this waiting at CT9 3EJ on the Ridings opp nos 31-33. Tidied up by residents as it was blowing around the grassland but some icky stuff in there. Thanks
A successful morning greeting beach visitors and handing out rubbish bags @botanybay. Several younger visitors participated in a #2minutebeachclean too.
