The NYT article by @seth_fletcher didn't mention it, but N2 ice from an exo-Pluto remains a completely viable, natural explanation for 'Oumuamua, without the flaws of H2 ice, radiolytic H in water ice, solar sails, etc.

I have been able to use my credit cards for grocery shopping in France, Germany, Danmark including small villages. But in the @albertheijn in the Netherlands, we are back to the 20th century! What is going on?

Important paper and thread. There is a really really good chance the “interstellar” meteor traveled at < 25 km/s and came from our asteroid belt, and that the satellite “measurement” of 45 km/s just had big error bars.
Our new paper on the possible interstellar fireball detected by US Government sensors is now out on Arxiv:

Just realizing I got a cool shoutout from @NASA with their honoring of Black astronauts for black history month 2023. Just wish they would have highlighted my dad’s contribution to the NASA Apollo Program instead of me as a geologist with a meteorite - which does rock! It’s always interesting to see what gets highlighted but I still appreciate being listed with all the amazing #NASA #astronauts who have made a career of advancing human spaceflight. 👩🏾🚀🚀🌎

When did Jupiter's moon, #Europa, form its metallic core? Maybe recently... or not at all😮

We extend our congratulations to the Spring Graduates of 2023🎉🎓! Your tireless effort, commitment, and exceptional achievements have earned you this momentous accomplishment. We couldn't be more proud of you!👏 May you continue to excel and achieve great things!🚀
3-D printed terrain map of a large impact crater on the dwarf planet Ceres. Gifted by my incoming graduate student @AstroHalophile @SESEASU! Lucas’s research will be on the chemical and physical properties of organic matter in salt-ice mixtures.
Tenured! Heartfelt thanks to students and postdocs in my team, my mentors, my advocates and colleagues in the field. Students and postdocs whose creativity and persistence took our research in new directions.
Mentors who kept me curious, who challenged me, and who led by example. Advocates who silently and graciously supported me. Colleagues and collaborators (I have admired for decades) who gave me their time, attention and invaluable feedback.
And finally for so many many folks @SESEASU to provide me the environment where I could fly! It is one of the several complex things that I have navigated in my career! Celebrating tonight with a bottle of champagne given by @minwadhwa
