Love that we're helping merchants like JOMO Studio save 1,000+ hours in local delivery with @EasyRoutesApp -- check out their tech stack in the @Shopify App Store apps.shopify.com/stories/mer…
The @EasyRoutesApp team is at #DotDev2026 👋
Here to learn, to support our customers and partners, and to connect with the community we’ve been building with all year.
If you're around, come say hi to our team — we'd love to meet you!

For years, @avarma has been one of the most important people in Toronto tech without many outside the ecosystem fully understanding why.
He helped build Xtreme Labs. Autonomic sold to Ford. Xtreme’s story even brushes up against Tinder.
He has been described as “sort of the king of Toronto.” Others put it more bluntly: “What people don’t realize is that he was carrying Toronto and KW tech on his back.”
Now, with Mantle, he is building again.

Building AI agents shouldn't be whack-a-mole.
Solve a problem once. Keep it solved.

John Tory takes his grandkids out for breakfast. If you're up with kids at 6am in Toronto and need pancakes by 7, your options are Cora or Stacked Pancake. And it's a good time. The real joke might be that you can't get there by subway until 8am on Sundays.

When we built @EasyRoutesApp, the goal was simple: save merchants hours on local delivery so they could spend more time growing their business. Now we’re focused on putting that workflow on autopilot.
Appreciate the love from @shopifydevs!

Not enough can be said about my friends and incredible entrepreneurs @avarma and @sundeep, twin giants of tech across Canada and the US, but I’ll try.
I first met them in 2009 while building Buzzd in NYC, while they were pioneering mobile apps at Xtreme Labs. Since then, their journey has been nothing short of remarkable, including:
Xtreme Labs → acquired by Pivotal Labs
Autonomic → acquired by Ford in just 11 months (<$400M)
Definitive → acquired by @GroqInc (recently valued at $6.9B)
@withmantle → an AI-native Carta disruptor, raised $10M
But beyond the exits and headlines, their greatest legacy is the families they’ve built and the countless people they’ve lifted along the way.
Last night we celebrated Amar’s 50th. In a room of 100+, every single person had a story of how Amar and Sunny had changed their lives—as teammates, founders, investors, or simply as friends.
I’ve never been in a room quite like that, and I felt truly lucky to be there.
Happy birthday, Amar—and thank you both for building not just epic companies, but epic communities that continue to raise all of us. 🚀 – at Manhattan, NY
I was lucky to get to take the hard path and look stupid at Xtreme Labs with @fnthawar early in my career - that has made all the difference!
.@Shopify was founded over 20 years ago, has over 10,000 employees, is fully remote, yet continues to operate with intensity, urgency, and a first-principled way of thinking. A lot of this is due to their Head of Engineering, Farhan Thawar (@fnthawar).
In our conversation, Farhan shares:
🔸 How he fosters intensity within his org (without burnout)
🔸 Why pair programming is far too underutilized
🔸 Why choosing the harder path leads to better outcomes
🔸 How he hires without interviewing
🔸 His mission to create a “crafter’s paradise” for engineers
🔸 How he built one of the world’s largest internship programs
🔸 Much more

Southern Ontario (Toronto/Ottawa/Waterloo) is the biggest sleeper corridor in the History of Computation.
Pioneered: first internet search engine (OpenText), compilers (Watcom), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (Certicom), GPUs (ATI), smart phones (RIM/Blackberry), Optical Networking (Nortel) and modern deep learning (UofT Hinton Lab).
Punches way above it's weight on R&D. Needs more respect.
It's been really cool to see @avarma and team make something that really helps founders :)

Built for Shopify all started with an idea that if we made it easier for merchants to discover great apps and gave developers the tools and guidance they needed to build them, we could create a virtuous cycle that helps everyone grow.
And that’s exactly what’s happening.
Since we officially launched the program at our Summer ‘23 Edition, Built for Shopify apps have seen a 50%+ increase in daily installs on average, with some seeing nearly 300% growth.
Here’s why this works👇
Built for Shopify is a win-win for all. We get to make a product that Shopify merchants love and the Shopify App Store helps more merchants can find our @EasyRoutesApp. Thanks @glencoates and team!
