The former gate house crossing and station at Grimoldby on the old Louth to Mablethorpe loop line closed in December 1960. Nothing remains of the railway either side of the station or crossing. #LincsConnect @bordersbeeching

As a kid, we always referred to it as 'The Dead Rail'. :D Situated in Ash Green on the Hampshire/Surrey border, it was said to be haunted by a German PoW who tried to escape but was crushed under a train when he slipped and fell on the line.
