No human being of any of the genders (or no gender or an as-yet unnamed gender) has a constitutional or natural “right to choose what they do with their body.” Nobody has a right to use their body to steal, prevent free expression, stifle speech, or … wait for it MJ … kill. We who oppose abortion do not disagree with you over what consenting adults may do with their own bodies, within the law. We disagree over how the law should treat humans not yet able to speak for themselves or take any action to defend against a mother or doctor intent on killing them. No, MJ, a fetus is not a mere clump of cells. It is not a subhuman life form. There is a sound reason the act that results in pregnancy is called, “reproduction.” It consists of a male human and a female human REPRODUCING human life. It’s a clear and firmly established fact that a pair of humans (with the required common and diverse physiological attributes) cannot “reproduce” a tadpole. If you follow the science, a fetus is a complete human. Stages of development cannot provide the dividing line. Every human is at one stage of development or another until death. “Viability” or ability to feed and care for oneself is a qualification that is likely to be contested by quadriplegics. Once a woman becomes home to a gestating human, she retains every right she and all others had the day before. But, M, pregnancy does not endow a woman with a right to kill another human being - even a dependent.
