Sometimes when we’re in a dark place… It’s easy to think we’ve been buried… When really we’ve been planted.

Kudos if you can catch the typo…

Intelligent people hold strong opinions loosely.

Copy tip: Find a visual metaphor. Instead of literally saying what your product or service does… Talk about what it’s like. Ex: Texting and driving is like driving blindfolded 👇🏼

Every brand needs a recognizable visual element. It could be a logo, like the Swoosh for Nike. It could be the shape of your packaging like the Absolute Vodka bottle. Or even the grille on a Jeep… Your brand needs something that’s recognizable without using words.

Advertising tip: Think outside the ad placement. Ex: IKEA turned its print ad into a pregnancy test, as a way to give a discount for a baby carriage. Weird, for sure. But also quite genius. When done right, hacking the ad space leads to a more memorable message.

Reminder: Today is the best opportunity you’ve ever had to do something great.
My take on the new Travis Scott x Jordan campaign line “Don’t Get Caught” instagram.com/reel/CgQVAPspa…
Copy tip: Your tagline doesn’t have to be about your product or service. Ex: “Don’t get caught” by Travis Scott/Jordan Nothing about shoes cuz there’s no product education needed. Instead it’s about the lifestyle of the person who wears them. And that’s the selling point.

It takes more energy to write with fewer words. The French philosopher Blaise Pascal once famously wrote: “I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.” Simplifying language is an art form that’s rarely mastered. And always respected.
People don’t buy products. People buy the feeling your product gives them. That’s why your copy needs to sell the emotional benefits. Not just the functional benefits.
Exaggeration a powerful copywriting tool. Let’s say you’re a delivery service. And you want people to know how fast your deliveries are. Then you could show your delivery truck with rocket boosters on it. That’s an easy way to say “our deliveries are REALLLLLY fast.”

Great example of exaggeration done right.

Use double entendres. That’s when one line says two things. These work best for brand taglines. For ex: “Give Me A Break” for KitKat 1) Give me a break of a bar 2)Give me a break to eat a KitKat Nice way to talk about the product AND how it’s used in life.
Change the words in your ads, change the course of your business. Change the words in your head, change the course of your life.
