Teacher Ji talk about Elio during his livestream and realizing how much there is to this person beyond what people usually see. He talked about Elio who decided for himself, while still young, that he wanted to pursue acting and took the arts entrance exam twice despite everything happening in his family. The Elio who kept going to Hengdian, running from production to production looking for opportunities and refusing to give up. The Elio who had a supporting role in a hugely popular danmei drama that never even aired, yet stayed calm and never seemed desperate for an explanation. The Elio who could calmly watch his own drama even after his face was replaced. The Elio whose accounts across different platforms were exposed, yet still walked through the airport with a smile. The Elio who received abusive calls when the drama first started airing and could still calmly handle the situation during a livestream. Even when everyone was getting emotional and encouraging him and his partner to go further, he still knew where his own boundaries were and refused to turn it into something more excessive just for fanservice. And then there’s the side of Elio that people don’t always see. The person who is actually quite timid. Who is afraid of elephants and cats with sharp little claws. Who can be lively and playful but is still quite introverted underneath. Who looks visibly uneasy in a crowded airport, waves his hands around when he gets nervous, and sometimes struggles to put his thoughts into words even when he’s prepared beforehand. Someone who overthinks, worries about giving fans a better experience, regrets the moments when he feels he could have done better, worries about causing trouble for the people he works with, has insecurities about his appearance, gets emotional when he feels he’s made a mistake, and easily empathizes with others. Watching Teacher Ji describe all these different sides of him just makes the contrast feel even more obvious. He’s resilient, but he’s soft too. He can admit, “I made a mistake,” but he can also remind himself, “If you hesitate, you lose.” Maybe that’s the most human thing about him, he doesn’t have to be just one thing. 🥲🥺👏 #Lyusitong #aylio
