Artshare: * XCOPY, ICXN, 2025 * Digital artwork; #226 of a generative series of 500 unique works * Minted on Ethereum, ERC-721 standard, via Art Blocks * Contract: 0xC04E0000726ED7c5b9f0045Bc0c4806321BC6C65 * Code contributor Aaron Penne * Dimensions: 800 × 602 pixels Original work: xcopy.art/works/icxn/icxn-22… Artblocks exporter page: artblocks.io/marketplace/ass… About ICXN (by rain41 @rain41): xitter.cf/rainwelcome2/status/19… cc: @XCOPYART; @artblocks_io
Previous XCOPY artworks were high-resolution GIF animations, with most images stored on IPFS or a server. In other words, XCOPY would pre-create and save the image, and we would view it by loading or downloading it from the server. That is, we were looking at an already completed image. However, ICXN is a generative art piece based on the Art Blocks engine, and it does not provide a separate image file. Instead, it only provides the "instruction manual (code)" for creating the image. The computer (browser) reads that manual and newly draws the exact same image on the spot every time. In other words, while it looks identical to the eye, it is an always newly generated image. The result is the same, but the method is completely different. This is not a simple technical difference; it is the message of the work itself. It is also a deconstruction and reset of the existing GIF aesthetic. The previous XCOPY conveyed the aesthetic of 'glitch + gif', Glitch Art being the aesthetic of technical error, which XCOPY expresses through flickering. While it spoke of a dystopia of inescapable, closed-loop dehumanization and ego collapse, in this new Art Blocks engine-based generative art, the method has shifted from 'showing' the emotion (pain) through GIF to 'making one see' the essence (the rule/law) through generativity. Of course, it still talks about the dystopia of inescapable, closed-loop dehumanization and ego collapse, but the core difference is not "What is being said," but "How it is being said." Thus, the aesthetic of 'gif + glitch' became code, and code symbolizes the system, ultimately conveying that 'the essence is the system.' And while previous works expressed excessive emotion, in this new work, all figures have been removed, and only simple forms remain. As the title suggests, XCOPY has deconstructed his ICON (symbol) into ICXN. ICXN does not depict the suffering skull. The system itself that tormented him has become the image. "Representation is a mirage created by the system." @XCOPYART #ICXN xcopy.art/works/icxn

Minted DDUST by @dotjiwa over the break — and picked up a few pieces (or a lot) on secondary. Finally diving into the project and taking time to explore the details. DDUST #14

First came across Jiwa’s work via a post from the @artblocks_io gallery in Marfa. Been hooked ever since. His pieces quietly pull you in and transport you elsewhere. xitter.cf/i/status/1949874473215…
DDUST was exhibited for 6 weeks across all screens at the @artblocks_io gallery in Marfa, TX from mid May thru the beginning of July 💨

Also highly recommend checking out Jiwa’s other projects through the link in his bio. Axo is another really cool project — gives me strong @kimasendorf vibes.

Attention is the ultimate currency and the key to earning it is personalization, this is where (imo) projects like @KaitoAI are still doing it wrong. Their model rewards mass posting, often driven by paid campaigns not personal relevance. What users see isn’t based on who they are, it’s based on what someone paid to push. That’s not engagement. That’s noise. Gen Z and Gen Alpha don't want to be broadcasted to. They scroll past generic content in seconds. But they’ll spend hours immersed in something that speaks to their identity, passions, and the communities they belong to. Platforms that don’t recognize that shift will fall behind. Communities are the new distribution channels At @XBorgHQ, we don’t buy traffic, we build with communities. Our distribution comes through partnerships with those who fans already trust and follow: Team Liquid, Team BDS, JD Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and more to be announced today. And of course our own amazing community. These aren't just logos. They're launchpads. Creators, clubs, and esports orgs are becoming the new infrastructure for scalable, personalized engagement. And the true Infrastructure? That's your identity! The future of engagement is data-driven identity. What you’ve done. Who you support. How you’ve contributed. What you like! It all matters and it should shape your experience. That’s the foundation for loyalty, rewards, and long-term connection.
