Roughly $8 Billion is what it cost to fund SNAP. America started as an agricultural nation. We have thousands of farms. As a nation we should be growing food to feed our population. No one should be hungry and we have more than enough land to grow and produce every thing we need.

“Had a great discussion this weekend with supporters, members of The Collective for Refugee and Immigrant Women’s Wellbeing (CRIW) and local #FairHaven business owners on immigration and the refugee and undocumented communities in New Haven. Read more: voteshafiq.com/platform
My thoughts and prayers go out to State Rep. Maryam Khan and her family. There is no question about the rise in Islamaphobic and antisemitic attacks in our state. Weeks ago, I put out a warning regarding the rising threat to minority communities. (1/2)
We need to continue to call these things out and support our local law enforcement so that they can be proactive and squash these incidents before they can happen. Eid is a time of unity and togetherness, and we need to stand united as a State against these hateful attacks. (2/2)

My Guy! What I Love ❤️ about New Haven. I pulled up to the Green, he showed me lots of love. Remembered when I served the city walking the beat & is very exited for Hope and Change to come. He said he will be registering just to Vote me in! Bru!!👏🏾 #voteshafiq2023 #voteshafiq
New Haven was ranked among the worst run cities in the country. Let’s face it, being Mayor is a tough job. New Haven needs a fresh set of eyes to get us back on course. We can make this change on Tuesday, September 12th. #abetternewhaven #voteshafiq2023

I met @rosadelauro back in the early 1990’s when she first began her campaign run. She is dedicated, hard working and committed to our communities.

Who remember the Dixwell Creative Arts Center? I taught art there after College in 1992. I still run into my students- now adults, some with their own children. The mural I painted for the kids is still on the window. #thisishome #voteshafiq #voteshafiq2023 #newhavenct #gscia
