Having had a good response to by last technical poetry enquiry, here's another one, with a bit of botany thrown in. The John Clare poem "The Morning Walk" has the line "a pink's nest to its prickles grew." Clare didn't do his own punctuation so I'm just wondering if "pink's" is

...correct, as in the nest belonging to the pink flower. Or does it mean "a nest of pinks" in which case "pinks" is the adjective so it should be "pinks nest" or "pinks-nest" ?
