Il ministro della Difesa Guido #Crosetto annuncia: "Ho deciso, insieme al Capo di Stato Maggiore della Difesa, di attivare la Marina Militare per garantire il transito in sicurezza delle navi italiane nello stretto di Bab el-Mandeb". "Abbiamo le capacità per proteggerne il passaggio", precisa.
"Questa notte ho seguito personalmente, con la massima attenzione e in contatto con il capo di Stato Maggiore della Difesa, generale Luciano Portolano, l'evoluzione della situazione in Arabia Saudita, e in particolare alla base aerea di Ta'if, che è stata oggetto di diversi attacchi e dove è presente personale italiano impegnato nell'operazione Inherent Resolve. Non vi sono militari italiani coinvolti. Nell'attacco è stato colpito un velivolo F-2000 italiano, che si trovava all'interno della base ed in un'area decentrata. Non ci sono altri danni a mezzi o infrastrutture utilizzati dal nostro personale". Così il ministro della Difesa Guido Crosetto.

Last night, two Italian 🇮🇹 Eurofighters deployed on NATO Air Defence mission at Šiauliai 🇱🇹, scrambled and shot down a drone over Lithuanian airspace.
The operation was coordinated through NATO’s Combined Air Operations Centre in Uedem, Germany.
Investigations are ongoing together with national authorities.
NATO has dozens of aircraft and numerous other air defence capabilities strategically deployed across the Alliance. Many enablers support these efforts, including air-to-air refueling aircraft and airborne early warning assets. Together, these capabilities provide a robust, layered shield that helps defend the Alliance and its one billion citizens.
