With Donald Trump coming to the Garden tonight, I'm 100% sure this rally is one of his points of reference. anightatthegarden.com/ (a short, amazing doc film) "In 1939, 20,000 Americans held a pro-Nazi rally in New York’s Madison Square Garden "forgotten American history?"

I'm just so confused as to what a NEWSpaper is = the front pages of the newspapers that landed on our doorsteps this morning. Should someone tell the NYTimes there was an important presidential debate last night that finished before 10.30pm? #NYTimes #wsj

Sad to hear of the death of two-time Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Jon Franklin, who wrote the best book about storytelling and narrative non-fiction that I ever read. "Writing for Story" changed my life as a visual storyteller. his obit> washingtonpost.com/obituarie…

Alas, this is too true and it makes me sad that a parody account is the one to point this out.
A Trump victory in 2024 would probably end American democracy as we know it. But, as a journalist, I am duty bound to report on whatever made-up story the Republicans are throwing out this week.

Charlottesville’s Robert E. Lee statue has met its end, in a 2,250-degree furnace. The divisive Confederate monument, the focus of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in 2017, was secretly melted down and will become a new piece of public art. More on the process: wapo.st/3s6HsFm

There are many things I don't like about the NYTimes but I always keep coming back, in part because of wonderful features like this nytimes.com/interactive/2023…

A low point for the Washington Post.
I spent four years covering the Trump WH and two years covering the Biden WH. What’s fascinating is that they both lie, albeit in v different ways. Trump team was shameless, whereas Biden team is too cute by half.

A model, in many ways, for how journalists in real time should be forcing politicians to back up their claims with facts and sources and not simply allowing them to go unchallenged.
Jon interviewed Leslie Rutledge, Arkansas Attorney General, about why her state banned gender-affirming care for minors - ignoring the guidelines of major medical organizations and taking the decision out of parents’ hands. Watch the full interview on @AppleTVPlus
