Surreal. Supernatural. Spiritual. How does one describe my close encounters with bald eagles? Happened again Sunday. As I locked up the cabin a shadow came from directly overhead - an immature eagle! Had enough time to get my camera out of the truck before it flew away #Nature365

A beautiful day for Ridgewalk! Alexandria and I spent some time at the remote pond. We were impressed by energy and spirits of the 25k runners/walkers. They ascended 800' over a mile-and-a-quarter before they got to us atop the mountain, but they were pushing forward and smiling!

Hey, internet, do your thing: Today, we bought a camera at the Goodwill in Shinglehouse, PA and in it was a card that had over 150 pictures on it...family parties, a beach trip, and more from 2014-2018. The pics might have value to that family. Reach out if it's you.

Destroying a camper trailer is like destroying a home. Especially when you consider the TLC my parents put into it to make it last. They bought it used, so that trailer made it 41 years, 33 of them on the mountain with threats by sun, snow, trees, bears, porcupines, mice and more
Prior to getting the schoolhouse at the end of 2019, we stayed in camper trailers in our forest. My parents still do occasionally. They won't anymore. Here's what happened sometime between Monday afternoon and Friday afternoon:

So many memories from that trailer. While it sucks that a crappy human destroyed it, it also speaks to the goodness of humans that on a deserted road it survived 33 years without a crime.

We're nominated for Engineering Excellence Award for InfoTechWNY 2026 BETAS. We're thankful for the nomination! We do have a cool team when you think not only of our long history of innovation, but also the things we've introduced in recent years and those we will be introducing

I listened to this horrible fatality last night. Gut wrenching. So many first responders took turns with CPR. The stresses and traumas of first responders :(

To teach my team about the powers, possibilities, and responsibilities of AI, I had my friend Craig Turner of Momentum AI provide training this week to two dozen coworkers. It was eye-opening for them -- they definitely see the benefit in it momentumhub.ai

Gasport lost a good one with the passing of Bob Harris who was a teacher at Lockport, a volunteer, and the man who got Harris Farm (now a popular farm market, too) started. RIP mitchellfamilyfuneralhomes.c…

Can you blame him for putting the Dodgers first? After all, he was the coolest man in Milwaukee but his office was a bathroom.
Love the Dodgers , but The Brewers earned their tickets

I see a muted sled season for @conferplastics
We use previous seasons (analogs) to develop an understanding on what to expect over this coming winter. A strong El Nino has one of the highest correlations of below normal snowfall and above average temperatures across our area. As you see in the map below a historical representation of previous strong El Ninos and the average temps from Dec-Feb for the various regions across the country. There are always anomalous events that can hinder the data, but the data is strong.
