If we have a UBI (a beutiful idea whose time has come) why a minimum wage? UBI gives the power to say 'No thanks' to a job you don't like, and 'Yes please' to one you like, e.g. a good cause/start-up which might be strapped for cash. Alongside quality Universal Basic Services..

A basic income is a great idea, unconditional and universal, a 'Guaranteed' income much, much less so as it implies conditionality with all that implies for dignity, 'deserving poor' etc @BasicIncomeIRL

Every time I see this "anti-technological advancement because we want real people" argument I think: elevator operators, telephone operators, livery stables... automation has always happened. People adapt. Meaningful work not menial work. #BasicIncome
