.@elonmusk - today (Oct 6, 5:37 PM) my Tesla on FSD ran a red light at S 352nd St in Federal Way, WA. Clip attached. No one was hurt. Sharing so the team can take a look. It was quite scary.
I know Tesla's answer: the engineers who wrote that code aren't criminals. The person behind the wheel is responsible. And that's right.
But the DOJ doesn't apply that rule to me. I wrote open-source code. People I never met misused it in ways I didn't control. Now I'm facing decades in prison.
Prosecutors compared me to "a getaway driver for a bank robbery." But I never drove anyone anywhere. I built open-source software that still runs today - because no one controls it. Not me, not anyone.
Elon, I know how much is on your plate. If you ever have a moment, I'd be truly grateful if you took a look at my case. I believe it matters for everyone building software in America. Thank you.

Dezelfde belegging, dezelfde belasting! 🇳🇱
Het kabinet wil box 3 per 2028 belasten op werkelijk rendement, maar crypto pas in 2030. Wij vinden: crypto kan en moet direct mee!

BREAKING: 🇳🇱 The Netherlands wants to tax UNREALIZED Bitcoin gains!
An official cabinet proposal hits self-custody wallets with annual paper-gain taxes from 2028.
Meanwhile, crypto under bank custody is taxed only when sold.
Unbelievable! ⚠️

I told Opus 5.5 to read my Bitcoin & monetary-history wikis & make a music video with code only.
it used ElevenLabs for the track.
Then a swarm of agents storyboarded and coded a 3:23 portrait reel. ~75 shots cut on the beats.
Had to do 2 revisions - first the people looked like poorly animated stick figures & it rewrote the rigs.
Then I said use matrix code to make it more interesting.
Impressive!

the thinking that "everyone will just vibe code their own software" was born from within a bubble
what's happening to software development right now has happened many, many times before to other things. you just need to look
web 2.0 allowed everyone to write blogs. did everyone write blogs?
instagram allowed everyone to share beautiful photos. did everyone share beautiful photos?
tiktok allowed everyone to make short videos. did everyone make short videos?
now vibe coding allows everyone to build software, and you think everyone will start building software? this time around, people are just different?
the mainstream is always a consumer, never a creator. go talk to some people outside of our tech bubble and you'll see - they literally don't give a f about vibe coding
everyone spent ten years learning to code and it turns out the terminal skill was english composition. the machine will do anything you tell it. the only thing left between you and what you want is whether you can form a clear thought and put it into words

Today, we're publishing BIP SHRINCS, the first concrete proposal for a post-quantum signature scheme designed specifically for Bitcoin.
The BIP draft turns what began as a rough idea into exact algorithms with an executable reference implementation.
This is an important milestone: the discussion can now focus on analyzing, criticizing, and improving a concrete proposal.
The BIP makes choices ranging from major design questions, such as whether to support flexible XMSS and how to balance signature size against verification time, to the many smaller decisions involved in saving a byte here or there.
All of these choices are up for debate.
Big thanks to Mike Casey, @conduition, @Ethan_Heilman, @kudinov_mikhail, @olkurbatov, Boris Nagaev, and @remix7531 for their contributions to the BIP.
A lot more work lies ahead:
- The draft BIP specifies only the cryptography. Using SHRINCS in Bitcoin Script will require a separate BIP.
- We are working on a security proof for the exact construction and parameters.
- Wallet integration and user experience, for example around backups and recovery after state loss, are still at an early stage. The design space remains wide open.
SHRINCS is not intended to be Bitcoin's "final" signature scheme, and it is not optimal along every axis.
I do think it is a very good trade-off among the options we have now.

Once typical of banana republics, such tricks are now used by the EU to pass surveillance laws.
🇪🇺 Chat Control has passed 😔
They can and will now legally scan any person's messages, emails and photos you send without a warrant
The way they passed this law when the majority of the European Parliament was against it will shock you:
They waited until most EP members were on holiday so only a few were present and then created an "urgent" vote for it to pass it through
There's nothing democratic about any of it and big powerful forces are behind this that can manipulate the EU for whatever they want
Democracy in Europe died a bit today 😔
Truth comes back around...
Today, on my final day as Director of National Intelligence, I’m releasing never-before-seen communications and documents exposing how Dr. Fauci provided millions in US taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab, worked with politicized elements within the Intelligence Community to suppress the truth about his actions and hide the virus’ lab-leak origins, and lied to Congress while under oath in 2024. It’s time you know the truth.

Call me crazy, but I think parents should determine what their teenagers do online rather than the government.
And that governments shouldn't use system-level ID checks to identify and monitor everything.
