Studio Wrong made a beach music video. It is cute and beautifully animated. It is basically “Dumb Ways to Die” but I feel emotionally fine afterwards. Beach Therapy, 1:18 long. Watch it. youtu.be/aI_fww5pIzo?is=X6V-…

Your old phone just got a promotion. UCLA built PhoneBot, a 19-inch walking robot that uses an Android phone as its torso, borrowing the camera, sensors, and processor to see, balance, and move. The other parts run about $400. Would you?
You can now use your old Android phone as the brain of a bipedal humanoid robot. UCLA researchers built PhoneBot a 48 cm robot with 13 motorized joints. The phone handles vision and walking control. It can walk track people and stand back up. Hardware costs around $400, excluding the phone.

AI is getting the travel-policy treatment, by @johnny_watersc aesiris.substack.com/p/ai-is… “Hire fewer starters, tell everyone else to use more AI, and next thing you know, the AI gets capped.”

Big Tech is giving AI agents big eyes and cute mascots so hallucinations feel less alarming. Cute stops being a differentiator the moment everyone does it. clowillaerts.substack.com/p/…

Frightgeist 2026 is a goldmine for Hollywood costume ideas, even with US-only data. Michael Jackson is at a 10-year search high and Disco Scooby Doo is trending. Me? I’m going as Nyan Cat (not on the list) , so I’m either a trendsetter or very lost 🌈🐱 frightgeist.withgoogle.com/c…

‘AI reverse engineering’ headlines miss the point: a Photoshop lookalike built from public docs is legal, a decompiled clone is not. A clean room with two AI systems could work in theory. Proving no Adobe code leaked into training data is the real problem.decrypt.co/380741/gta-v-ipho…

New: The biggest trend I'm hearing at Advertising Week is not creators or AI — it's the return of real-world ads. The shift reflects a new truth: As the internet becomes less trustworthy, less trafficked, and more mediated by AI, physical space is becoming more valuable. 🔽🔽

If this video isn’t AI-generated, it’s a beautiful piece of art in itself. A robot learning Suzhou embroidery, one delicate silk thread at a time. There’s something poetic about a machine learning one of humanity’s most slow-paced, intricate crafts. youtu.be/uRy589aDp48?is=XuIW…

AI agents stopped being a demo this year. The people getting real value aren’t the ones with the best model, they’re the ones who set it up well. Next year the gap won’t be AI vs no AI, it’ll be teams that learned to delegate vs teams still “evaluating.” stateof.ai/

Reddit isn't an AEO play. It's where developers go to ask "has anyone actually used this?" before they buy. Join conversations, teach instead of pitch, give it 3 months of credibility, & don't expect analytics to show it. Ask customers how they found you. vermilioncliffs.substack.com…

Neal.fun's latest, Spend Elon Musk's Money, is the same game as Spend Bill Gates' Money, except now the fortune is so big that the real challenge is figuring out what's left to buy. Weirdly satisfying. neal.fun/spend-elon/

Google's SynthID Detector is public now, and it's a useful reminder that a "no watermark" result doesn't mean "no AI." It's one more clue, not a verdict. Still, a world where anyone can check for a watermark beats one where we all trust our eyes. deepmind.google/models/synth…
