"Husbands, Love your wives as Christ loved the Church." (Eph 5:25)
I think about this passage often. Though I am single at the moment, I often contemplate what kind of man I need to be for the family I hope to have someday.

Today I learned that Donald Trump is more forgiving than I am. If I had my way, she’d have a cell with no windows in the basement of GITMO and no access to human beings except the person in the cell next door. (Hint: it’s Donald Trump)

In 258 AD, Roman soldiers interrupted a Mass. They beheaded the pope and four deacons on the spot. The record of that moment proves the pre-Constantinian Church had a defined Eucharistic priesthood and a structured Roman liturgy. Here's the ancient witness you were never shown.

We should refrain from Church gossip, especially when we don't have all the details.
If you weren't sitting in the room, or even if you were, we should refrain from commenting or presuming malice.

Melissa, thank you for finally answering the question of “what is the Gospel.” I’ve chosen to QT because this response is going to be a long thread. Please forgive me and bear with me. I have no idea how the character limit will impact the number of posts…

The gospel is the good news. It’s more than just 4 specific books. While we were still sinners, God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can be reconciled to God. Jesus arose on the third day, ascended to Heaven and will return for us who believe in Him. That’s the gospel.
He then kisses the altar stone again, bows to the Altar (and the tabernacle behind it where the remaining consecrated hosts are stored) as a sign of respect, and processes out.
