New York City is putting $5 billion behind š±š° clean energy investments. We are proposing an investment of $5 billion into private markets, targeting cleaner, more reliable energy while seeking to generate strong returns for our pensioners. This is an emphasis on private-market climate investing as three of the City's pension funds aim to meet their climate goals!
New York City Comptroller Mark Levine unveiled a plan to steer billions of dollars into private markets, characterizing the move as a shift designed to help the investor meet its climate-related goals while safeguarding returns. bloomberg.com/news/articles/ā¦

While electricity prices continue to climb, many utility companies are keeping old and expensive coal plants online and building more pricey gas plants, rather than investing in renewable, affordable, clean energy.
IN THIS ECONOMY?!?

VICTORY š
Sierra Club sued the Trump administration for illegally keeping an old, expensive coal plant from retiring, and WON.
While Donald Trump is padding profits for fossil fuel companies, we are fighting for lower bills, cleaner air, and better health outcomes.
The DOE stepped outside its legal authority when it ordered a Michigan coal plant to stay open, a court ruled.

The 10 highest paid energy CEOs are responsible for nearly a THIRD of CO2 pollution from power plants.
Let that sink in.
While our bills get higher, the air gets dirtier. While we get sicker, these CEOs are getting richer.

Trump's attacks on offshore wind kept losing in court, so now he's paying off energy companies to abandon offshore wind projects.
This is another corrupt, shady, backroom deal from the administration to bolster profits for Trump's fossil fuel buddies.

Did your power bills go up last month? It might be because Donald Trump is forcing old coal plants to stay online, and making YOU pay to keep them running.

The Sierra Club is suing the Environmental Protection Agency over its rollback of key climate protections, arguing the move is illegal, unscientific, and harmful to public health.
The lawsuit, filed today by the Sierra Club and a coalition of health and environmental advocacy groups, challenges recent actions by theTrump administrationās EPA under Administrator Lee Zeldin to eliminate clean vehicle standards and repeal safeguards against climate pollution. The coalition says these rollbacks will increase pollution, raise fuel costs, and put communities at risk.

šØ BREAKING: Trump is moving to eliminate the EPAās Endangerment Findingāone of the strongest legal tools we have to fight climate pollution.
With the stroke of a pen at a White House event this Thursday, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin will formalize climate denialism as official government policy and move to eliminate EPAās ability to directly fight the climate crisis. This reckless move would gut EPAās authority to limit climate pollution from cars, power plants, and other major polluters.
This finding has been upheld by the courts, grounded in overwhelming science, and used since 2009 to protect communities from deadly pollution. Eliminating it puts polluter profits over peopleās lives, right as climate change is already destroying communities and driving up costs.
The Sierra Club has fought for federal climate protections longer than any other organization, and weāre not backing down now. Weāre exploring every legal option to stop this dangerous rollback.
We will fight this. Polluters should pay ā not the public. Read more at our statement š
