Health should be the primary responsibility of every government. Without health, there is no economy. Healthcare, not defense should be the prority. Health, education, then defense. No lesson learned 😢😷
Kill heath insurance industry. As you can see, they’re not the front line.

(1) The "Turing Test" was never "the" benchmark for intelligence for AI researchers. (2) There is no single "Turing test". There are many variations of the test. One was "passed" in 2014. (3) I wrote a piece for Science on all this: science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…

I drew this piece by hand ✍️ to reflect on how AI is transforming the art forms I grew up loving.
I remember treasuring every second of "My Neighbor Totoro" and eagerly awaited the next release from Studio Ghibli every two or three years.
I treasured the craftsmanship put into every hand-drawn frame.
Even though it is not the most efficient method to create animations, especially in the age of AI, it is the most effective way to connect and touch my heart!
Not everything needs AI.

I, for one, am really glad to see that according to @TIME, that acknowledged authority on AI, 62.5% of "the architects of AI" never wrote a peer reviewed paper on AI.
Here is hoping there will be more and more architects, so there are fewer AI conference reviewing crises..🤞
Cat fight…👀
As someone who was part of the first wave of generative AI criticism (back to 2019) I resent this.
The message was never “it doesn’t work”; it was always it doesn’t work reliably and can’t be trusted on its own. Literally hundreds of times I said it useful for some things.
All of that is still true.
Inventing bogeyman is not cool.

I did a podcast with Jon Stewart who has always been a hero of mine. It was a lot of fun. He really wanted to understand how AI works.

In an op-ed for @nytimes, I argue that the alliance between Silicon Valley & the US government is a threat to democracy. The Republican tax bill now up in the Senate, which would ban states from regulating AI for a decade, will only cement that trajectory. nytimes.com/2025/05/30/opini…
