I'll stop using Twitter for an unknown amount of time (indefinitely?). You can find me on Matrix as @bluecmd:kamel.network.
Longest of shots: when I started using Linux back in 2002-ish I once used a distro that as I recall came with a music album (electronic genre, almost 8bit-ish) or at least some tracks. I thought it was either Mandrake or KNOPPIX which I used heavily, but can't find references.
Fun little thing I wrote to make the default Debian bash shell VRF-aware. gist.github.com/bluecmd/7db1…. I am using it to make my SONiC shells better, and support shell spawning straight in the management VRF instead of the default one. #SONIC_and_SAI

Remember @janmarjanovic 's discovery about second, hidden PCIe HIP in the Microsoft Stratix V GS (j-marjanovic.io/stratix-v-ac…)?
Well, guess what, @gatecatte figured out how to enable it!

If you are interested in "fun" networking quirks, @blueCmd just wrote a blog post about a pretty interesting one discovered while trying to test a network topology with VLANs. blog.mainframe.dev/2021/08/t…
Did we all just stop caring about core dumps when we moved to Kubernetes? I still want them, but Kubernetes seems to almost be engineered to make it impossible to collect.
CoreOS had coordinated reboots, did that survive into a healthy standalone project? Are there other reboot coordination projects worth considering? Asking for a CVE-2021-33909 affected *ahem* friend.

Det förblir märkligt - om jag uttrycker mig mycket försiktigt - att Sverige fortfarande inte har en fungerande cyberskyddsmymdighet. Behovet har varit tydligt sedan år tillbaka.

You can now `go install github.com/bluecmd/go-tcg-st…` to replace the every-day operations of sedutil with a Go variant, if that's your thing :-).
Over the past week I have been digging deep in TCG Storage standards like SSC Enterprise and SSC Opal ("Self-Encrypting Drives"). Ended up writing a Go library to interact with them - turning out pretty well If I may say so myself, github.com/bluecmd/go-tcg-st….

Getting an easy-to-install tool to handle SED disks in Linux would likely be welcomed - and another possible idea is to replace the PBA (wiki.archlinux.org/title/Sel…) image with a @LinuxBootOrg / u-root based one. Maybe even with Secure Boot (MOK) support?

We've never been deep stealth, but it is nonetheless really fun to get some more specific details as to what we're building -- with much more to come!
We are very excited to show off more about what we have been working on! oxide.computer
Anyone with actual modern experience operating tape libraries? Would love to understand real pains people face and what frequency. Seems the service most vendors include in the purchase would take most of the pain away (24x7 6hr service? Yes please!).
