India is run by a series of small judicial coups. These unelected few decide what is right for the country by using bogus yardsticks like basic framework, essential practice etc..Who will bell this judicial cat?
This year, Diwali for common man is in Govt's hands, says #SupremeCourt as it gives time till Nov 2 for issuing circulars on waiver of interest on interest for loans up to Rs 2 Cr. Govt has agreed to waive compound interest on MSME and personal loans up to Rs 2 Cr for moratorium

Such inducement of guilt by involving all kinds of dubious moral arguments used to work in the past when others knew little of pillow talk. Today, it simply doesn't work. The whole world knows that hamām mē sab naṅgē nahï hai, bas naṅgē hai to hamāmi. Let them continue.

Classic and shameless argumentation by pillow, projecting onto us the creepy fantasies his own brotherhood is accused of unleashing. The pillow is wrapping the communal perversion with moralhighgroundery that has long ceased to exist after being abused by such filthy apologists.

India is a nation-society created arnd hindu heritage. But natural for the polity to have overwhelmingly hindu imagery. Cut that out, and the trifecta of democracy-secularism-modern-laws do not exist elsewhere between Malacca and Bosphorus...
The many absurdities of Indian secularism, as rightly pointed out by the Bombay Sunday Standard—from the President planting a tree to the chanting of Hindu priests on the occasion of Van Mahotsav to the laying of the Mysore legislature's foundation stone with Hindu rites. Sigh ..

THE WHY IS THE STORY. Yusuf Pathan sought a municipal plot in Vadodara in 2012. The proposal was rejected by the Gujarat government in 2014. In 2024, the BJP-controlled VMC served him an encroachment notice. The land was valued at ₹20.5 crore. Now, two months after he quit TMC, Gujarat proposes to GIFT him 500 sq m and sell him another 478 sq m at a 45% discount. What changed? Why should a disputed public plot be gifted to a politician on such sweet terms?

This is exactly how CAA protests turned into communal riots in Delhi in 2020 and Hindu shops and businesses were targeted and burnt on the first two days of the riots We helped rehabilitate over two dozen such victims
French journalist Paul Amar: “They came prepared. They had the addresses of town halls. They had addresses of Jewish shop owners. In a street in Marseille, all businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. Businesses run by Muslims weren’t”

The Mother Teresa of Economists (term copyright @GabbbarSingh ) has no qualms in taking money from Western billionaires to run their economic experments in India. The western billionaires somehow seem kosher while Indian billionaires are the villains keeping rest of the Indian poor. Never mind that the money from those who have capital (either through business or jobs) is used to help the marginalized. The trick to make it an equitable society is to make everyone prosper, not make everyone poor.
Dreze simply illustrated the grotesque concentration of wealth and the staggering inequality between labour and capital. Neither becomes any less consequential because the billionaire happens to be Indian. When you cannot challenge the argument intellectually, you attack the scholar by resorting to insinuations about research funding, racial whataboutery and the familiar bogeyman of Western interference. The difference between economic scholarship and ideological servility could not have been clearer.

I'm no longer going to post more on this, but let me just say that when you refuse to recognise ills of the rebellion to assuage some psychological wound or some foolhardy desire to "avoid communal tension" (this backfires btw), you're justifying shit like this:
Miller (1976) points out the issues with this whitewashing of the rebellion rather succintly.

A Koshur Batta (Kashmiri Pandit) woman, photographed around 1920, wears a traditional pheran and taranga, ornate jewelry and wooden krav sandals. Holding two metal water pots, she appears in a portrait attributed to Pandit Vishwanath, published in a 1922 book on Kashmir.

India doesn't exist in a vacuum. Intolerance by Muslims end up incentivizing intolerance by Hindus. Had Hindus in Bengal been as aggressive towards Muslims as the Dogras and Sikhs and not blindly placed their trust in the Nehru-Liaquat Pact or succumbed to Gandhi's blackmail, the Partition of India would've been bloodier yet the near-total population exchange would've potentially saved millions of Bengali Hindus from the 1950 riots, 1971 genocide, etc. They were ultimately punished for showing relative restraint. The cycle of mutual hostility which leads to dehumanization of Muslims could be nipped in the bud if neighboring Muslim-majority countries were to treat minorities with tolerance. Institutional safeguards alone can only do so much when trust itself has been undermined repeatedly.
The refusal of the Indian left (with exceptions) to name the exclusion and dehumanization of Muslims as the driving force of Hindutva ideology makes me feel very sad and a bit frustrated.
