Something that bothers me about the tech-academic debate is how little concern the βdumbing downβ lobby seems to show for the students they systematically /casually chuck out of their sixth-forms with rock bottom self esteem leaving FE colleges to pick up the pieces whilst crowing about their academic curriculum.

All too often this is dismissed. We should be focusing on sweating the small stuff.
We should clearly explain why the behaviour is unacceptable and link back to our school values. Small moments become big norms if left unchallenged.
The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.
