I can’t help but notice some Americans are using Tesla demoing a shell concept car hopping for two seconds as some kind of global claim of technical superiority. Well… Thrust-based vertical manoeuvring? Developed in Britain in 1957, culminating in the Harrier Jump Jet, with the P.1127 making its first hover in 1960. And the upside-down car stuff? That’s fan-generated downforce, already demonstrated by British car company McMurtry with its electric Spéirling, which has been destroying track records around the world for the last few years using that exact technology. So let’s not confuse demonstrating an existing engineering principle for the first time in a Tesla prototype to inventing the underlying technology. And the difference is, both the Harrier and McMurtry are real world products, not vastly adapted prototypes designed for a single demonstration. Rule Britannia, spiffing stuff boys and all that. 🇬🇧

Read in full & RP Trump is a disgrace to all Americans and the World We keep thinking he can’t get any worse, then he does
BREAKING NEWS: Billionaire Sir Richard Branson launches a SCATHING attack on Trump and his disgusting coziness with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that gets under Trump’s skin... "I never thought I’d have to say this in my lifetime, but it’s 2026, and unfortunately, nothing is the way it used to be," wrote Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, on LinkedIn. "The Trump administration has become an enabler of autocrats and dictators, placing their personal whims ahead of the interests of the American people and the free world. What is it about Putin that makes President Trump fawn over him?" "How can America’s allies ever trust this administration again, when it is now turning against them in a time of war and suffering?" he asked. Trump has repeatedly betrayed our Ukrainian allies in recent days. First, he announced a shocking deal with Putin to allow millions of barrels of diesel onto global markets—a move that will inject cash directly into the Russian war machine. Then, he launched a concerted smear campaign against President Zelenskyy, claiming that Putin is "easier to deal with." The betrayals escalated when Washington failed to provide its customary early warning to Kyiv regarding an imminent Russian ballistic missile attack. Now, it appears the White House has ordered a temporary suspension of Starshield—a military version of Elon Musk’s Starlink, upon which the Ukrainian armed forces rely. "The throttling of Starlink/Starshield and the inexplicable failure to provide advance warning of Russian missile launches have already led to the needless deaths of Ukrainian civilians," Branson wrote. "How much worse can it get?" "If one thing is clear, it’s that European leaders must move past the initial shock of Trump’s recent actions and step up. This is as much about European freedom as it is about Ukraine’s sovereignty. Both are worth fighting for," he continued. "Every option should now be on the table—from transferring frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, to delivering advanced weapons systems like the German Taurus." "Why, oh why, is this happening? We cannot allow the free world to be dismantled before our very eyes," Branson concluded. We couldn’t agree more. Trump is an enemy of Ukraine, an enemy of democracy, and an enemy of the American people. When the Democrats regain power, we will have a major task ahead of us. Every trace of this monstrous man’s legacy must be erased. Please ❤️ and share if you think Trump is Putin’s puppet!

George Harrison stands at the gates of Friar Park, staring at what most people would call a disaster. The Victorian mansion is decaying. Grass grows through the floors. The once-famous gardens are wild and overrun. Greenhouses have collapsed. Grottoes are buried. Paths have vanished under decades of neglect. He’s 27. The Beatles have just broken up. He could go anywhere. Do anything. The world is waiting for his next move. Instead, he buys the ruin and starts digging. Not as a hobby. As a way of life. He hires ten gardeners and works beside them from dawn until midnight, hands in the soil. His sister-in-law sees the place and asks what he’s thinking. George doesn’t explain. He just keeps working. His son Dhani grows up watching his father gardening by moonlight, squinting in the dark because the shadows hide the imperfections that bothered him during the day. The music industry keeps calling — albums, tours, interviews. More George Harrison, the Beatle. George wants to plant trees. Friar Park isn’t just a garden. It’s a strange Victorian dream: caves, tunnels, a four-acre Alpine rock garden topped with a miniature Matterhorn, and gnomes everywhere. He even photographs himself among them for All Things Must Pass — then goes back to pruning. When a nursery owner mentions slow sales, George buys one of everything. When someone offers 800 types of maple trees, he takes them all. His wife Olivia remembers him saying, “It’s not my garden, Liv.” He saw himself as a caretaker. The garden didn’t belong to him — he belonged to it. By 1980, he publishes his autobiography and dedicates it “to gardeners everywhere.” He writes that he’s simple. He doesn’t want the business full-time. He’s a gardener. He plants flowers and watches them grow. Journalists visit and call it un-rock-star-like. George doesn’t mind. He’s lived Beatlemania, stadium screams, cultural revolutions. Compared to restoring hedges, it felt empty. After John Lennon’s murder, the gates close for good. George and Olivia keep working — not for visitors, but for the work itself. He dies in 2001. Today, the gardens are considered masterpieces of Victorian landscaping. Olivia still tends them. The estate remains private. George Harrison chose dirt under his fingernails over applause. And in that choice, he found something stadiums never gave him. Freedom.

Worth a read in full The clossy ads in the Sunday Mags that sold us oldies on Audi and BMW is old school Cars are about value for money not image China has changed all that
So I went to the Paris Motor Show... Here's what I found 👇 - European and US car manufacturers are in massive trouble. The features and materials used in their cars are just so far behind. - Many western car brands offer cars for €60–80k with plastic interior finishings. Even the AMG Mercedes had this. Always thought they were "Premium". - The price differences are crazy. €40k gets you a shitty Kia with plastic trim and a curved panoramic screen. For the same price, you can get a BYD Sealion with leather finishings, much more features and a premium feel. - Chinese cars get you so much more for your money, and in many cases cost less. I don't know who would ever choose a Tesla over XPeng or Zeekr... they aren't even playing in the same league. - The busiest stalls were mostly Chinese cars. The level of interest was staggering. Zeekr, BYD, XPeng and Aito were by far the busiest, with big lines to view and sit in the cars. - Literally no western cars I saw had a TV screen in the back or a fridge built into the console. - I was surprised the most by Aito. Beautiful cars that are premium, luxurious and customisable, like having 2 seats in the back instead of 3. Nice that they offered all their models in either electric or hybrid. Means you don't need to sacrifice design or features for any model. -- EU and US cars, watch out. Your brand image won't help you for much longer.

Datacentres need to be located in cold places, as they generate a lot of heat. So thats not in the middle of the UK
In Finland, a new generation of energy-efficient data centers is transforming how cities manage heat. Data centers have transformed urban heat management by recovering waste heat from servers and funneling it into the country's extensive district heating networks. This innovative system turns an energy byproduct into a vital resource, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels for heating. This ingenious solution addresses two major challenges: the growing energy demands of data storage and urban heating needs. Instead of releasing heat into the environment, Finland’s system recycles it, creating a closed-loop energy network that benefits both technology and society.

The problem is few Politicians will tackle the issue, as the Jewish 0.5% have a strangehold on the Commons and the Lords. So commonsense has gone out of the window And the Law Courts are too busy But someone needs to sort it.
