SE Michigan folks: Any interest in a in-person Linux Install Day? Check out various distros, see what others are up to, do some networking etc. Win10 EOL is coming quick and I bet most of us have a machine to repurpose.

On-device AI is extremely deceptive. Using "free tools" as the smokescreen, the corps are offloading the cost of computing embeddings on every piece of text you see/write. Moving that cost to your device will let them brag about how "green" their data centers are in 3..2..1..

Join me in Southfield on August 20 - We'll do a deep dive on how an LLM works and how we can exploit its behaviors, explore some OSS tools, and play around with Llama/Mistral. #MIDOTNET meetup.com/midotnet/events/3…

Thanks everyone for the interest on my Vertical Slice Architecture course in Zurich next month, it's nearly sold out! Have capacity for 2-3 courses in Europe this year, where should I go?

Do you use #USPS Informed Delivery - where they send you a daily email with scanned images of your mail? I built a service to REMOVE ADS and images of JUNK; delivering only scans of real mail. Built for myself but planning to open source. Any interest? #informeddelivery

ALT An image with descriptive text "USPS Informed Delivery Ad Removal Informed Delivery is a service offered by the USPS that sends you daily emails of your scanned mail pieces. Ad space is also sold to mailers allowing them to couple digital ads with sent mail. I built a simple service to process these emails and send only the mail piece images without the ads. It will be open-sourced in the future; but for now you can test it out by contacting me. Left: Sample showing a typical sent email. Bottom: The clean email that the service creates."

To make my colleague feel better I asked chatgpt to write an appreciation of AutoMapper. Their reply: It's amazing how accurate this is.

The accessibility talk from @saltnburnem tonight at #MIDOTNET today was pretty good. I hadn't really thought about how many people had some level of colorblindness until a chemistry lab in college, where around 1/4-1/3 of the class couldn't see the pH indicator dye color. – at Auburn Hills, MI
