Sweden regrets the decision by the US to impose sanctions against the @IntlCrimCourt. Sweden and the EU stand firmly behind the ICC and its vital role in ensuring accountability for perpetrators and justice for victims of the most serious crimes of concern to us all. Multilateralism and international institutions for ensuring accountability are needed more than ever at a time when violations of international law continue to cause immense suffering. Sweden will continue to support the ICC, its independence and its integrity.

The UK stands with the International Criminal Court and we stand united with our partners in strongly disagreeing with sanctions imposed on the Court. The ICC must be permitted to continue its critical work holding perpetrators of the most horrific international crimes to account.

N12News mako.co.il/news-world/2026_q…

A week and a half before October 7, 2023 UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Abu Dhabi and spoke with him for 45 minutes. In that conversation, bin Zayed warned that Hamas’ leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, was planning a major operation against Israel. Bin Zayed urged Netanyahu to take the situation seriously. To his surprise, however, the prime minister reacted with relative calm. Netanyahu said that, in his assessment, Hamas intended to operate in the West Bank area, and he reassured bin Zayed that Israel was prepared for any scenario. 🔗haaretz.com/israel-news/isra…

“Israel is trying to make life in the West Bank unlivable for Palestinians.” In an interview with @IsaCNN for @CNN, B’Tselem Executive Director Yuli Novak said: “The extensive killing is the most extreme manifestation of a policy inflicting widespread harm, and no onedemands accountability from Israel for its actions.” From October 2023 through July 27, 2026, Israel killed 1,100 Palestinians in the West Bank. Of those, 37 were killed by Israeli settlers.

Maggie Haberman spent an hour with him in the Oval Office in March and came away with a number. Seventy percent of his mind share, by her estimate, goes to the renovations. The ballroom. The arch. He interrupted an unrelated meeting to call Emmanuel Macron and ask what it is like to stand under the actual Arc de Triomphe, whether it has a visitor's desk, whether people jump off it. Someone had asked him what should go on top of his own version. He was deciding between that and a giant gold cast of his own fist from Butler. Meanwhile nobody around him seems fully certain he understands how depleted American munitions are after this war he started with Iran, a live open question from a reporter who has covered him for a decade. There is no policy agenda left, by Haberman's own account. No immigration bill in the works, no legislative program, nothing beyond retribution and construction. He is not governing a country right now so much as decorating a legacy he has already decided he deserves.

Are Americans souring on Israel? The polls say they are, and fast too. Sixty per cent of Americans now view Israel unfavourably. A sea change in what used to be perhaps the most pro-Israel country on Earth, says John Reed, the FT’s explainer editor. ft.trib.al/ejaonNU

This is why you don’t start a war without clearly defining your desired end state, outlining how that end state will be achieved, anticipating how the enemy will react, & specifying the metrics by which you’ll know you’ve achieved the end state. Otherwise, you will inevitably end up with what we have now—a bombing campaign in search of a strategy.

BREAKING: Trump exploded and lost his temper during a security meeting, shouting and cursing out of frustration over the military options presented to him and the lack of progress toward a deal with Iran, per NBC News. A US official adds "after all this time, there is no unity" inside the administration, which is "facing a strategic defeat without clear policy guidance or a decision about where this is going." An ally close to Trump adds the president is "exasperated" and there was "not a real strategy for how long or what they should do."

USA calls on all Rome Statute members to withdraw from the International Criminal Court.
The U.S. welcomes the decision by interim President Delcy Rodriguez and Venezuela to withdraw from the ICC and the new Venezuelan government's partnership on American-led efforts to dismantle the corrupt and worthless ICC. The so-called court has been "investigating" Nicolas Maduro since 2018 with no result. The ICC has instead wasted its resources on investigating and charging persons from countries that have competent, independent judicial systems and which never submitted to the jurisdiction of the court. This is blatant overreach, political bias and selective enforcement. The ICC is neither credible, independent, nor legitimate. Thanks to President Trump's leadership and the efforts of brave American service members, Maduro is now facing justice in U.S. court for crimes he has committed. It is time to dismantle the ICC. The U.S. calls on all members of the ICC to withdraw from the Rome Statute.

In a new report, David D. Kirkpatrick writes about the Biden Administration’s handling of the war in Gaza—and the top officials who now express regret about it. “Virtually everyone involved thought that Israel was killing more Palestinians than was necessary to achieve any legitimate objective,” Kirkpatrick notes. “What surprised me the most was the vast gulf between what the Biden Administration knew internally and what they said to the Israelis privately, and, on the other hand, what they said and did publicly.” Read his investigation: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/9l…

Urgent call to the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel's violence and prevent pogroms by settler militias and the Israeli army across the West Bank. In recent days, violence by settler militias, enabled and supported by the Israeli army, has escalated across the West Bank, including the torching and destruction of Palestinian property, and the forced expulsion of families and communities. These attacks have been met with silence and inaction from much of the international community, allowing the violence to continue and intensify. Today's event in the village of Tell (Area B) when a settlers' "tour" in the village ended with the killing of at least 4 Palestinians and 1 settler and several people injured is leading to escalated violence in the area with settlers, ministers, and Knesset members calling for further revenge attacks which already started across the West Bank. Experience shows that these events can escalate quickly into mass pogroms when met with silence. We call the international community to act now. Immediate pressure must be placed on Israel to stop further attacks, prevent pogroms and further killings, and ensure the protection of Palestinians, in accordance with Israel's obligations under international law. When this happens to a member of the US Congress, you can imagine what happens to Palestinians.
Israeli settlers, brandishing American made M4s, detained me & other Americans on my trip to Palestine. When the IDF arrived, they sided with the settlers & continued our detention. They made a huge mistake. You will be hearing more soon. nytimes.com/2026/07/11/us/po…

Rahm Emanuel on Israel: Support for Israel is plummeting around the world. You've lost Europe, your biggest economic partner and market. Your scientists face exclusion from international conferences and research networks. Your artists and academics are shut out of exhibits and meetings. In 2022, 55% of Americans held a favorable view of Israel. Today, it is 37%, and it is dropping. And among the youth of both America and Europe, it's even lower. The only diplomatic gain you've made in the last three years is Somaliland. You lost America, you lost Europe, and you picked up Somaliland. Such a deal.

If this comes to fruition it will be game changer for the Middle East 👇🏼
🚨UPDATE #Qatar's PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani says #Gulf states and #Iran are negotiating a new regional security framework one that relies less on Washington and more on direct regional cooperation. For decades, Gulf security rested on the U.S. umbrella. But after drone attacks, shipping disruptions, and repeated crises, regional powers are increasingly looking for their own arrangements. The Gulf is moving toward a multipolar security order, including Iran. Whether this becomes lasting stability or simply a temporary alignment remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: the region's security architecture is changing.
