Well this is kinda scary 😳anthropic.com/research/self-…

AI models may be capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter

Small AI models may be only months away from being able to self-replicate across cheap IoT devices like Android TV boxes, with no datacenter needed.

Everyone is obsessing over building giant gigawatt AI data centers, but the future of inference could actually be sitting inside old telecom central offices. 🏢⚡️ New blog post here: bitsinflight.com/ai-inferenc…

AI Inference Doesn't Need New Data Centers

Training does. Inference can live in buildings we already have.

Cisco tried to sell “one throat to choke” and “any silicon you want” at NFD40, without reconciling the two. On Router Jockey, @Tonhe highlights that tension despite a strong Silicon One and AI fabric story from @Cisco. #NFD40 #TFDLive #AINetworking routerjockey.com/any-silicon…

One Throat to Choke, or Any Silicon You Want: Cisco at NFD40

Cisco's NFD40 pitch: Silicon One custom silicon for vertical integration, or Spectrum-X merchant silicon for customer choice. Both in the same catalog, both supported.
