@itsdonnyok and I decided to do our first art collab while we were in Marfa and these were the results. What is art? Our Chinati Foundation tour guide would say "It is how we choose to create our lives" and I couldn't agree more. Till next time, magical Marfa❤️

I’m daily amazed at the unachievable height of the un-contributing masses’ standards of uniformity for everything they should’ve never known about to begin with because they can’t afford or wouldn’t buy anyway.
I know it’s something that makes us human and the internet is just exacerbating it, but this kind of public judgey crybaby nonsense is the reason I stopped wearing pink cargo pants to school when I was five.
There is nothing wrong with five-year-old Donny wearing pink cargo pants, and my later in life [and probably ongoing] decisions to wear more muted and subtle clothing were/are a product of me just not wanting to spend all day explaining why I’m wearing pink, as if it’s something I have to defend in court each time I do it.
This kind of bullying yields sterility, and I hope to be able to fight against this everything-is-black-or-white-or-grey-and-is-all-the-same-shape-and-size uniformity that slurps every last bit of joy out of a system in favor of safety and efficiency. There are only a few ways I can do this, within reason, but I’ve been trying.
I like safety just fine, and efficiency is great. But I’m here to empower someone somewhere who’s reading this by saying “doing things that are not safe nor efficient nor uniform is ok and if you want to do them at your own risk then do them”.

wanna discuss humanity with artists on why we create pieces most of which will be forgotten and passed like a kidney stone in a body full of other failing organs in a world where overconsumption is eating the souls of the youth and numbing the spirit of everyone that inhabits a planet that we abuse?
I'm cohosting "art?" with Whitters today. My short answer to "why bother" is threefold:
1. I can't not. Once there's an idea, I can't stop myself from executing and obsessing over it.
2. I don't give a shit who likes it. I want to connect with people, and I want to have cool conversation. But parasocial lifting doesn't feel like a particularly compelling reason to (or not to) create. The process is its own reward.
3. It's such a massive privilege to be able to be an alive human on planet Earth. There's so much to explore and feel, and the fact that it's probably finite only makes it that much more valuable, and I refuse to drag ass through my life. Everything with interest and intent.
Onward. Swing by.

I know how much of a good or bad person you are by how you treat animals and kids. It's easy to give respect to adults and those with some type of authority, but to give that same respect and dignity to those without a voice? That tells me all I need to know.

When I was 17 my parents took me to Disney World and I was at the time, very, very, afraid of heights. So, I asked them to take me to the Slingshot so I could be catapulted 400ft into the air. When it comes to fear you either run away from them or you run full speed into them.✌️
