Of course. People confuse #NI as though it was an investment which pays out a return. That was never the intention. And government fiscal reality now shows your income is still the key taxed element. #bbcaq

it's not the "pressures on government" but the #responsibilities #bbcaq #tripleLock compromise with a suggestion instead ... As long as pensions "keep up", it really doesn't need a guaranteed 2.5% ... make it a factor based on volatility? (it could be more complicated) :-)

that was the tory project ~ to privatise pensions. ...and it lives on ...creeping... We used to contribute (as workers) to a #safetynet ... that was it, life/retirement sustained (as best as) ... But privatise and you're playing insurance #markets vs #profits = #banksters
