We will be introducing bipartisan legislation to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It will be called the “Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.” It will be forced to the Floor via discharge and it will pass overwhelmingly. #PeaceThroughStrength

Nvidia’s OpenShell announcement is a reminder that agent safety is an engineering problem. Recent breakouts weren’t proof that development must stop. They were proof that the sandbox was too weak. The runtime environment was poorly designed and misconfigured. The right response is open runtime isolation, control of the path to the model, out-of-band hardware enforcement, and a faster pace of safety work with the frontier labs. As the technical blog puts it: “We believe we need to increase the pace of AI safety research and engineering in collaboration with frontier labs and the broader community.” That’s how you earn trust. Not by virtue-signaling a pause, and not by acting like no solution exists.
Today, with over 100 industry partners, we introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, bringing together OpenShell and Sentry. Artificial intelligence is extraordinary technology that will advance discovery, productivity, security, health, and prosperity for generations to come. But its full promise can only be realized when people have confidence that AI is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility. This is bigger than a single product. It's the beginning of an open ecosystem to build the trust layer for safe agent systems. Together, we are building the foundation of the AI economy. Trust and innovation are not in conflict. Safety is how trust is earned. We must build not only the most capable AI, but the most trusted AI, so that this extraordinary technology can realize its enormous promise for the world. nvda.ws/4hcoq7m

Safety is an engineering problem, the @nvidia edition: Open Shell to enforce policy in the kernel outside the agent process. Can be paired with Sentry which runs in BF-4 and can quarantine a rogue agent in milliseconds. Containment is the backstop to alignment. Super elegant.

I agree with @DavidSacks If developers of AI want to slow down development of their product they are free to do so. One thing is for sure: their competitors won't, including our nation's adversaries.

Hitler said “give me the Sudetenland Land and we will have peace.” The Allies did and that only fed Hitler’s appetite. Encouraging Ukraine to give land to Putin is foolish and very naive. 70% of Americans want us to do more to support Ukraine.
Jared Kushner on Ukraine: President Putin's laid out his line of what he wants to achieve. If Ukraine, you know, wanted to withdraw to that line, then obviously, you know, we have the rest of the deal set up and put together. Ukraine right now does not want to do that.

Exercise FIRE SHIELD is underway. Soldiers from the Moldovan National Army, the Romanian Armed Forces, and the North Carolina National Guard have been sharing expertise, practicing joint drills, and conducting hands-on drone training at the Bulboaca Training Area.  The mission: Allow troops to train in realistic field environments while enhancing command and control competencies for both U.S. and Moldovan forces. Next up: Field exercises putting their training to the test.  Leveraging unique opportunities with the North Carolina National Guard - the planning, logistics, and teamwork practiced during FIRE SHIELD strengthen the Moldovan National Army’s capability to protect and support its citizens in any crisis.  The United States is proud to participate in this joint exercise, supporting Moldova’s sovereignty, neutrality, independence, and readiness.

Agreed. @vkhosla @GavinSBaker @JTLonsdale and many others are speaking the truth about AI and the world we ACTUALLY live in, not the fantasy land that many politicians and bureaucrats imagine
Many great technologies have good and bad uses like nuclear and biotechnology. AI is no different in having great uses for the bottom three billion people on the planet and bad uses. Main difference no treaties are possible because unlike other technologies AI is not verifiable when used. Up to people like @DavidSacks to keep this danger front and center. Chinese originated Covid, despite treaties, caused 7million direct deaths and over 30 million including indirect deaths. And that is a verifiable tech we could detect when used.

Absolutely! The doomers fail to understand the reality of the world we live in.
Palantir and Nvidia need to get more credit for what seems to be their hesitancy to get uncritically onboard with the recent calls for "pacing the frontier." The whole chessboard right now is shaping up for quite a game, actually.

The world is going to be alright, guys. Keep having kids, loving your family, and starting and building businesses and institutions. Don’t live in fear. Leaders have big responsibilities and challenges ahead, but it doesn’t help to scare everyone. We are on top of it.

Tonight at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, I had the privilege of joining NED’s Board to honor courageous people defending freedom around the world. The 2026 Democracy Awards recognized Mir Vsem/Peace Unto All from Russia; the journalists of Ethiopia’s Addis Standard; the pro-democracy organizers of Burma’s Spring Revolution; Cuban artists and activists Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, Maykel Castillo Pérez, and Félix Navarro; and the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression. We also presented the Democracy Service Medal to Belarusian human rights defender and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski and the Champions of Freedom Award to Senator Chris Coons, with an award being presented to Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart next month. As America marks its 250th anniversary, gathering at the home of George Washington carried special meaning. Our honorees remind us that the First Amendment freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition remain a source of hope—and a call to action—for people everywhere. I was grateful to share the evening with friends and leaders committed to advancing freedom, including Senators Tim Kaine and Todd Young, U.S. Special Envoy John Coale, former Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and my NED Board colleagues. Congratulations to all our honorees. Your courage inspires us—and strengthens the cause of freedom worldwide.

An amazing place to visit.
🇷🇴🧳Rumunia to chyba ostatnia, wciąż nieodkryta w naszym kraju perła turystyczna. I mówię to bez cienia przesady. Do tych nowszych obiektów dodać trzeba też koniecznie pałac królewski w Sinai (a właściwie kompleks pałacowy, bo składa się on z dwóch kluczowych obiektów – Pałacu Peleș i stojącego nieopodal mniejszego pałacyku Pelișor). Odwiedzający to miejsce czeka surrealistyczny widok.

On the night before Moldova’s Independence Day, our airspace was violated by not one, but five drones. A separate drone was also found on the ground in Moldova. We have repeatedly warned about the unacceptable risks posed by Russia’s war against Ukraine. Yet another Russian attack on Ukraine has once again resulted in violations of Moldova’s airspace. These incidents are another reminder of the need to strengthen our national security and our ability to protect our citizens.

Today, Romania destroyed a naval drone carrying explosives near its Neptun Deep platform in the Black Sea. An escalating campaign of threats is underway, unsettling our citizens and seeking to divide our Union. This is hybrid warfare. The founding mission of our Union is to preserve peace. Today, that also means having the capacity to deter provocation and aggression. Our Readiness 2030 agenda is mobilising up to EUR 800 billion. With the European Drone Defence Initiative and the Eastern Flank Watch, we are scaling up production in Europe to deliver capabilities Member States need. So we can respond to emerging threats with speed, unity and resolve.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is guarded twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year. It has been guarded, without interruption, since 1937. In September of 2003, Hurricane Isabel reached Washington. The National Park Service, out of concern, gave the sentinels of the Old Guard permission to stand down for the storm. They did not stand down. The sergeant of the guard on duty that night refused the permission, calmly, and without further comment. He would later say, in an interview, only that permission was not the same as an order, and that in the absence of an order, the walk continues. The walk continues. Twenty-one steps. Turn. Face the tomb. Twenty-one seconds. Turn. Face the other way. Twenty-one seconds. Twenty-one steps. The rain came sideways. A tree fell in the cemetery a hundred yards to the east. The wind lifted a portion of the roof from a nearby maintenance shed. The sentinel did not break stride. He walked. He turned. He walked. At 3 a.m. the wind reached seventy miles per hour, and a sentinel weighing 175 pounds in soaked wool, carrying a rifle, and wearing sunglasses in the dark because the manual requires them, walked twenty-one steps, turned, and walked twenty-one steps back. Nobody was watching him. Nobody could have watched him. The cemetery had been closed. The public had been evacuated. The only witness was the storm. He walked for six hours. He was relieved at 6:12 a.m. The tomb had not been left, at any point during the storm, uncovered. There is no medal for this. There is no ribbon. There is no citation. There is no commendation in his file. The Old Guard does not require one. The walk is the point. The walk was the walk before there was a country to record it, and the walk will be the walk after everyone who remembers this night is gone. Somewhere in America, at this moment, in whatever weather, a sentinel is walking twenty-one steps beside a marble slab, facing an unknown man whose name he does not know, for an oath he took to a country that will never see him take it. That is what the promise looks like when nobody is watching.
