AI Markets Crystalize
For subset of AI markets, it is suddenly clear who the finalists or winners will be:
* LLMs
* Code
* Legal
* Medical Scribing
* Customer Service
* Search & IR
New cos (or incumbents) may still show out of nowhere, but at least v1 of game has crystalized

An observation about PMs who get promoted quickly early on:
They consistently turn high ambiguity into clarity, clarity to alignment, alignment to plans, and plans to shipped product. No matter what problem you give them, they surprise you with their ingenuity & energetic action

Today’s temperatures are below freezing, and at least 160,000 in Odesa are without power - including a hospital, schools, and residences - as a result of Russia’s overnight massive drone attack that damaged civilian infrastructure.

Soon, people will care more about their favorite AI apps than the models powering them.
I don't care which model is powering:
- Perplexity
- Granola
- Replit Agent
I care more that they have:
- High craft and thoughtful UX
- Lightning-fast speed
- Seamless integration into my workflows
It's a great time to build AI apps.

An interesting conclusion: Voters mistakenly believe that many of Harris's most popular policies are actually Trump's.

Congrats to @crampell and @zhoyoyo for some fantastic research.

If at any point you think it's a good idea to build a "user tour" in your app, stop and go for walk.
Your app should be self-explanatory. If your users are confused (or your data shows low participation rates on key features), you need to revisit these design decisions:
1. Navigation
2. Hierarchy & layout
3. Empty states
4. Copywriting
You have to assume the average mobile app user has the intelligence of a lizard. Make it so abundantly obvious how the app works—even if it comes at the sacrifice of power users. After all, you need users before you can have power users.

speed and patience are so critical, even though they feel so different.
speed to act, patience for the market to adjust and the iterations to make the greatest impact.

Every project needs someone to play the role of simplifier.
If you don’t have one you’re doomed.

I followed all public health guidance and infected no one.
You’ve unnecessarily exposed numerous people over the last few days, your administration is refusing to do contact tracing, and there’s an outbreak in the White House because of your dangerous disregard of public health.

Imagine getting the brief to write some copy on a fucking bin bag and then smashing it out of the park like this. Sensational effort.

Knuth once said, "premature optimization is the root of all evil." He was describing software, but this applies to many areas.
Don't spend months optimizing $2k/mo AWS spend, or automating tasks that aren't very time-consuming.
When resources are limited, focus on what matters.

What doesn't work well:
- getting inside sales folks to get out of the office to meet F2F
- getting field folks to handle the velocity of leads for inside sals
- getting SMB reps to map out a customer's org
- getting enterprise reps to learn to close in 1 call
right tool
